I don't know why he's trying to get an extra touch both times there. Just hit it first time when there's a clear chance on. By the time he's took the second touch he's having to snatch at it before he gets closed down.

Really disappointing that we had 55m to spend on a striker and he's the best we could come up with.

With no return as well.

He’s not been great, but it’s way too early for that.

I’m not saying he won’t end up doing ok for us, but he should’ve been a Wilson replacement for 20-30 million, we kept going for him long past the point where we should’ve moved on. As it is, we got a midtable forward for £55m and no resale value. I bet Wilson is wondering wtf was going on.

I'm not sure it is.

I just don't see him as our number 9.

Maybe a few games on the right if Murphy is injured will do him the world of good in finding his feet

11 games, half of them as sub? After no pre-season really and a fair injury. We overpaid, but didn’t have much else as an option. Still early days imo. He did look way off it tonight.

Who were we getting in for £20-30m though? In hindsight, DCL would probably have been sound on a free. I can’t think of any others off the top of my head.

I’m saying that’s what he should’ve cost, but it was clear in early August that we weren’t going to get him for a reasonable fee. We just hung around until deadline day and paid full whack anyway. Now we’re back to saying PSR is a problem.
