If we keep Isak, its against his will.

He's gone.

So?

Funnily enough, plenty of players are kept against their will for an extra year or two - look at C. Ronaldo and Suarez who still put up monster seasons after their failed escape attempts before getting transfers that better suited their clubs.

Heck Mr Liverpool 4 Lyfe Stevie G was adamant that he was going to Chelsea... a full decade prior to him actually leaving.

Guehi probably cares about his Palace legacy and how he’ll be remembered. When he’s retired he’ll probably feel a lot of affection for Palace and he’ll consider them one of his teams. Some players go from club to club not caring about such things, I think that is Isak. I’m not saying it’s right or wrong, but people have different priorities.

Guehis a professional.

Our twerp isn't.

Ronaldo wanted to go to Madrid a good season or two before he actually went. If a club doesn't match the clubs valuation I think Isak will do a professional job for us.

One of the reasons why Eddie wants Guehi. He didn’t kick up a fuss when we were after him either. Solid non disruptive professional. Isak on the other hand!

Did he down tools and refuse to go on tour, whilst paying agents to send out come and get me plea's on the hour?

People are obviously welcome to want him back in the fold, but for he's shown his ass and he can get fucked.

To add on, this is the first sniff of any real interest, a hint of a bid from Liverpool and bomb, toys out the pram.

Yeap I really don't like him coming back into the fold after the way he's acted.

I don't either, but I will refer to Eddies better judgement the man is a genius.

But I'll never have affection for the player again, he's tried to stiff us.

If we are selling him to Liverpool it should be before the Liverpool match so the whole of St James' can give him a lovely send off....

I don't think its going to be that bad for him judging by some of the posts I have seen. He is basically on strike and demanding a move, turned up for training the other day and left after 10 minutes. Yet some people are defending him and saying its not his fault for some bizarre reason. Carroll and Enrique got absolute hell when they came back here the first time with Liverpool and they did far less to engineer a move than what Isak has done.

You're talking with passion. Its his job and he would like a new start, its that simple. Do a deal and move on

This is not even 10% as toxic as that saga.

Ronaldo spent 3 months crying into every microphone and camera on the continent that he wanted to leave for Madrid.

Don't you remember the slave comments?

They’ve got some nerve Liverpool fans. In 2013, they refused to sell Suarez,  kept him for another season, which he excelled, before selling him to Barcelona.

Not only that, they kept him despite Arsenal meeting his release clause. Liverpool threatened to sue knowing they'd lose but also knowing that the delay would mean he still wouldn't go there.

No, I couldn't care less about the guy.

Aye, this was mentioned in the book by the head of data for Liverpool, Arsenal should have sued them but once again the Liverpool favouring media clowned Arsenal to the point of them backing down.

Or he turned up to training injured, got examinated by the medical team whom concluded he shouldnt train, so he left?

This thread is moving at 100mph so apologies if I've missed something other than twitter speculations some have adopted as the truth.

Surely you know how that ends?

It's a no from me.

Ideally, under no circumstances should we allow him to go to Liverpool but if (when) it happens we should definitely wait until after we've played them.

He won’t , he checked out after the cup final

He was clearly carrying an injury.

I'm just as annoyed with him as the next guy for engineering a move now but let's not reinvent history. He was playing injured since even before the cup final. If he had "checked out" then he wouldn't have even bothered playing in the remaining games instead of playing half fit. He would have just saved himself for his new club.

I was gonna say. I remember the term "slave" being used regularly around that time and he still stayed and won the league on his final year if I remember?

So hardly impossible for a player to stay if they want a move. Especially if we think he's a good enough lad to get on with it.

Yeah it might be awkward and maybe won't be fully fit for the first few weeks of the season but once the season gets going and we have CL games against a Real Madrid or someone under the lights etc. you telling me he wouldn't default to giving his best performance?

I don't agree that it's impossible to keep him if he wants to go because Ronaldo and Suarez etc have set precedent that you can. We need to maximise the fee otherwise he stays simple as that.

Absolutely no discount allowed for those scumbags just because they decided to tap up our player.

With Trafford off to Citeh we can boot the new GK down the road, freeing up some extra cash for a top striker or whatever

As long as Aaron Ramsdale is available, Newcastle will be interested. :suicide:
