Naah, you have to look at the big picture. Wilson was useless and Isak can't press after 60 minutes. We are going to play around 50-55(?) games this season, and replacing Isak with a top talent and a proven EPL striker, who both are not injured often + money to spend, is a smart move. If Isak would be going to PSG, I wouldn't even care. Him going to Liverpool is the shitty thing here. 

 

Of course this all depends on Sesko being a good pick. If he is Beto mk 2, then we have made a horrible mistake.

The Athletic reckons we think the price is too high whereas Romano reckons we're waiting on the green light from the player. Latter sounds bollocks to me, as I don't think Newcastle would be bidding these amounts if they didn't already have a green light from the player.

 

All guesswork but I don't think we're seriously involved in this and expecting a "here we go" for Newcastle in the next 24-48 hours.

Sesko isnt as good as Isak, theres no amount of copium that will change that but it doesn't mean we couldn't have a better team and a better squad off the back of it.

There's definitely a whiff of Man United being used, either on the club side or the player side, to extract as much out of Newcastle as possible.

The Man Utd fella from the athletic (whitwell, maybe?) is pretty good I think.

I think we would still have room for more but it's risky since we haven't sold any of the outcasts yet.

 

We've made over £20m in sell on clauses this summer. £15m off the books from Rashford's salary. Then Garnacho, Sancho, Antony and Malacia will all leave the club. Casemiro's book value drops off as well which is another ~£30m saved in the accounts.

 

Think we have a lot more wiggle room than people realise. I'm not even factoring in sacking more dinner ladies.

Yeah Laurie Whitwell and Andy Mitten are our two most trusted sources. Mitten especially as he's very close with the players.

This kid has the potential to be a very good player for us. I just hope our fans be patient with him and try not to hold him to Isaks ability straight away. He has everything to succeed in the PL with us, team, manager and coaches.

Totally agree. Especially when it was inevitable that Isak would leave.

 

The issue is who we are selling him to. Ive got a feeling he will do the same to Liverpool in a couple of years, when Madrid coming knocking.

I think Sesko will be a much more robust and ready to go player than what Isak was. Even if the goals dont flow immediately.

Deadline day more than likely for Sancho, Antony and Malacia. Probably only £15m or so I'd say for Sancho & Malacia but another £20m a year saved in wages. Antony I've no idea what will happen as he only wants Betis but they can't afford him and we only want a permanent transfer.

 

Garnacho will go earlier. It's a world cup year and he's on a low enough wage. I think if Garnacho/Chelsea try and fuck us about with that one to drive the price down then we'll dig the heels in as he's signed a new deal not long ago.

Unfair to compare Sesko today v Isak today. Isak came to us same age, has developed under Eddie for 3 full seasons. Waste of time to compare imho. 
 

If we wrap this up I’d love to get an attacking mid to extract even more out of Sesko. Would be really great business if we could pull that off.
