dude, I am not far off tbh. I stated that I am leaning toward that gdm is probably right. And if he is, I would view it as a major capitulation on the club's part to just give in unless it really is a ludicrous sum of money.  Even then, I'd prefer that they showed some serious nuts and played hard ball no matter what.

Unless the money is spot on you are 100% right. I'm not sure our fan's version of ludicrous money matches reality with the club. I'm just not sure what is realistic nor how bad the behind the scenes situation is. Under no circumstances give him away for cheap, we can all agree on that.

Chelsea have been trying for 2 months to offload strikers, not add to them.

 

Besides, signing Sesko would distract Bohley from his lifes passion of signing 250 million pounds worth of midfielders every window.

It's not the loss of Isak in itself so much as it is a) selling Isak to a domestic rival (from a position of strength, for a fee under his true worth, after they have both conspired to fuck us over, no less). That's the part that is consequential to our standing and psychology as a club, which is a deeper issue than the personnel we are able to assemble for the start of the season.

There's no way that pif allow this to happen under any terms but our own, their perceived image is the most important thing to them and this would be a massive show of weakness and essentially an admission of being less than.

 

I still think Isak stays, I don't think the perpetual victims pony up the cash required to sign him and Eddie, Yasir and Jamie will talk Isak off the ledge with an improved contract and some kind of get out next summer if he still wants it. This is far from irreparable, we still hold all the cards and the Sesko deal is a statement if we pull it off.

 

Maybe I'm delusional but I still see us bringing in another 2 or 3 behind Sesko and having a very competitive starting 11 with the best bench we've seen since pif took over.

Yes, presumably because Isak will have #14 whilst all the PR malarkey is happening to announce his signing. Isak will go once we have him, Wissa and a CB I think. Midfielder I think they’ll get but be more flexible on as they can probably make do with just Miley for the first 2 games as backup.

Annoyed that Isak will be going to Liverpool but after the way he has acted...fuck him, no player is bigger than the club.

 

If we bring in Sesko and Wissa as replacements for Isak and Wilson I would like to think that the two combined would score more Premier League goals than Isak and Wilson got combined last season so it isn't all doom and gloom and there would theoretically be plenty in reserve to get a proper centre back and central midfielder in to really enhance the squad.

 

This shit show of a window can be fixed!

Signing someone who will score a goal this season would be a help. Peak Isak-Wilson combo managed 35 goals I think in a season (22/23); if these two can get to that (achievable I think) then I’d be delighted.
