Aye I said last night - can't blame a player for wanting to sign for Man Utd. They'll always be an attractive club to sign for as they're huge, plus the added motivation of being part of the squad that takes them to the top again (though a long way off).

Logically, you'd choose Newcastle if you had any sense. We've a proven track record of actually improving players and the trajectory is upward. But I get why he or anyone would choose Man United, they're a monster in comparison to us. Also footballers will believe in their own ability, which is fair enough.

I was actually uneasy about paying £80m for him though. Goals in Germany are like dog years.

Yeah the pressure of being their main striker is probably heavier than for us. Granted there is going to be a little extra than normal on whoever we sign to replace Isak in the short term.

But feel the media and fans would be far more patient here. Man U is a different level to us in terms of scrutiny and this wasn't an ideal start for him. He'll need a performance fairly quickly to avoid being coined Hoijlund mkII.

But above all else, joining a team like us you would have been joining an Eddie Howe team who will protect you, phase you in slowly and ultimately get the best performance from you. You could argue the opposite has been happening at Man U for a few years.

On one hand, very happy we didn't sign him now. A striker to not be up for a penalty and hide until the last possible chance to take one is mind boggling....then kind of understandable seeing Amorim hiding away in the dugout in a penalty shootout against Grimsby . If Sesko doesn't sort himself out there, he's fucked as no chance Amorim is helping him.

On the other, Howe would be the perfect manager to build his confidence.

Keep saying it, but we are a striker's dream.

If I were a decent striker looking for a move and wanting to progress my career I'd be banging on Newcastle's door.

TBF he said he wasn’t bothered about the shoot out because he was so shocked at how they’d played. Thinking about that, it’s probably worse. 😆

He wants out, no doubt.

That's ridiculous

I think it's pretty clear what he meant though. That the performance was so bad that the penalty shoot out didn't matter. Even if we won it wasn't good enough.

Doesn't matter how its getting suger coated, it isn't something I'd want my manager to be doing. It wasn't a good look mate.

I can fully understand this view point, but I really like that he's emotional and says what he thinks with complete honesty.

Ten Hag is probably still going about Garnacho being offside against Arsenal.

So you defending Ten Hag was, in fact, a charade all along?

Fair do's, but the only thing that came out of that from my perspective was a whole lot of negativity. Keegan was very emotional mind and it was quite refreshing.

He deserved defending in certain situations where he was unfairly criticised.

He was awful with the press though.

Mbuemo and Sesko have made a big mistake. If only everyone was telling them this before!

They both knew what they were choosing. Their signing on fee cheque will have cleared and they have probably had their first months salary by now. They won’t be bothered.

Amorim is on borrowed time and they know he will get the blame, and they get a new chance with a new manager and their mega contracts.

Mbeumo will remain a top professional. Cunha is the one they need to worry about in terms of attitude. Sesko, more to do with his performances

Mbeumo is class like, great little player. Cunha a talented headcase who will have some moments but generally underwhelm. Sesko, yikes. Don't see a big difference to him and Weghorst, just a big lump who will score a few headers, small sample though and I think Howe would have turned him into something.

Will take some time before Mbuemo catches the man utd stink. He's class. Hopefully he gets dragged down eventually rather than pulling others up.

Maybe we should be doing that with Hojland, I’d take him as the Wilson replacement for the right, cheap, price.

I think there is a player in Hojland, he was just mangled by Man Utd mess.

Think all 3 are cracking players, but it's a toxic environment for them to thrive, especially together and the mess that is behind them is always going to hold them back.

Manure probably shouldnt have went with Sesko right now, think our interest forced their hand.
