Fuck me, all of this is a blast from the past. Highlander is a belta, though Lamberts accent always baffled me as charming as he was. Been a couple of decades so probs due a rewatch.

Just looked it up and Henry Cavill supposed to be cast as MacLeod in a remake with Dave Bautista as the Kurgan.  Proper odd, will have nowt on Clancy.

Anyway back to footie. There can be only one, and it ain't Sesko.

Bautista is actually a really good actor. But it was as if that role was written specifically written for Clancy Brown. Used to quote him all the time when I was younger.

He was crap but only cost 5m in 2004, only about 8.5m in todays dosh

Doesn’t really work like that does it though, given the inflation of transfer fees since then. We got Owen for £16m a year later. As much as I hate the little twat what would a player with his record at the age of 25 cost now?

Kezman would cost like £40m plus with the lack of strikers around compared to back then.

I had to look back at his scoring record and you're right, he scored a ton for PSV and would have commanded a serious fee today, despite the leagues not being remotely comparable

Have no idea why they signed him. He’s the complete opposite of who they needed this year and it was plain as day

This implies there is any thought put behind who they sign past "what positions do we need lads?"

I think they need to be seen to be spending big each summer, particularly on attacking players and regardless of their suitability. Sesko is a player that needs a ton of development and they paid ready-made for the PL money, which he clearly isn't. It probably helped they were able to use us to appear strong in the market and it's probably not much more complicated than that

Crackers the way man utd carry on like, should've kept Hoijlund as back up and signed an experienced striker like Watkins to start matches.

I'm trying to remember if Amorim even tried Antony in this system before discarding him.
