In what way?

Rushing to put a bid in for a striker who Arsenal turned down due to his wages demand - when Newcastle can afford to pay him less.  Makes no sense.

Who reported that Arsenal turned him down because of wage demand?

It was definitely reported that the deal was too expensive for them. Whether that was the whole package or just wages, I don’t know but I did read that his wage demands were high.

Id rather our current striker hadn’t turned into someone with the business acumen and morals of a Ferrengi mind

Reeks of desperation this

Star striker leaving with 3 weeks until the season starts. What do you think we should do that wouldn't be classed as desperate?

Not the best source. I’m sure it was reported that it was more RB Leipzig’s demands not dropping from €100m. It was then reported yesterday that they’re dropping them by €30m or so presumably because they’ve realised nobody is biting at €100m

Loads of places reported it

Personally - stand firm.  Liverpool need to sell Nunez first - if PIF don't hand them the funds Isak will still be here at least this season.

I’m not saying we’ll do it, but signing the likes of Sesko is exactly what we need to do. Who’s the alternative that wouldn’t be desperate?

Now more than ever we should be showing that we still mean business. We can’t stand still.
