Physically and technically his potential is unrivalled amongst the up and coming young strikers. He's as exciting a prospect as Isak was.

However, although I still think he'll be at least a solid performer from the outset, he'll still need some bringing along, and may have some inconsistency, and that means that we will absolutely need to have an experienced Premier League performer that is capable of leading the line, but that will also be willing to play a secondary role as Sesko emerges.

Wissa is absolutely perfect for that experienced striker role, and so we have to make that deal happen if Sesko comes in.

I do reckon if we are able to get both Sesko and Wissa that Isak will likely be sold. For me personally if we do get those two in I really couldn't give a damn what happens with Isak and his ropey groin.

In my opinion trading Isak and Wilson for Wissa and Sesko is a significant improvement in our front line options.

No, absolutely no chance we will go back and tell Liverpool yes please take Isak now. Just think what’s the message behind. No. Isak will stay till next summer

This is where I'm at, I think Sesko comes in as Isaks long term replacement and spends a season coming off the bench and learning from Howe and we revisit the Wissa type player next summer when we sell Isak to a team on the continent for £120m

If the Sesko thing is true I reckon we get him and Wissa and Isak goes ay £140/£150m

it’s too quiet tho, if Sesko has chosen Newcastle and it was known then more outlets would have picked up on it by now

The way I see it, the club is likely to receive somewhere between £100–150 million for Isak, whether that’s this window or next summer. With that in mind, is there a chance he actually stays another season, even if Sesko comes in?

Personally, I still think he’ll be on his way if Sesko signs—but keeping him for another year could definitely help ease Sesko’s transition.

I also agree with kaka on every point.  If we get both then let him go for me and it’s a much better use of the funds, may even have some left over to get a CB or CM.

Theoretically, we could buy Wissa and Sesko and wait to sell Isak at the end of the season and as its in the same year wouldn't hit PSR/FFP, right?

Yes obviously the risk would be a nasty injury, but we can absolutely do that yes.

If we get Sesko and Wissa both, Isak will be off, IMO. Either one of Sesko or Wissa means Isak stays. In the first scenario, we'd have a decent profit to reinvest on other bodies in CM and CB.

But in the first scenario Liverpool will win the PL the next 3-4 years.

That's if you believe that our club's motivation is not just to help our club grow and prosper, but simultaneously to out-muscle and hinder our direct competitors (and clubs above us). i don't think we're at that level yet, alas. If we were up to any cloak-and-dagger elbowing of Liverpool, we'd have followed through with the Ekitike deal rather than let them sign him. Isak is for sale for anyone who meets our valuation. It is just unfortunate that this season, his value is arguably at its peak, yet the only club in for him is Liverpool.

Best case scenario is us signing Sesko, keeping Isak, and then wait for next season when Lewandoski and Kane turn into OAPs and need replacing. Liverpool knows this too, so they're trying their best to get Isak now, by hook or by crook (Romano).

I think we can afford Sesko and still be able to get a CB. Ramsdale deal means we saved what we were planning to spend on a GK.

Not really. We’ve paid £4m loan fee which will all hit this year.

We were paying £27m for Trafford which would have been amortised over 5 years, so £5.4m would have hit 2025/26 accounts.

Everyone walking about getting rid of Isak to free up funds, we can have it all this season, keep Isak, sign Sesko and Wissa, sign a CB and CM and keep Isak. We sell him at the end of the season and balance the books then, we are in a strong position and don't need to offload him yet, as @Heronsaid, we can let him go when the season ends, abroad somewhere and still benefit from the PSR bump then, we don't need to sell up now for that.

Go all in and have a real go at this season and see where we land come June 2026 when we'll have a lot more interest in Isak.

A historic year for Slovenia, Šeško will be the new Alan Shearer The football world is following the transfer news regarding strikers on the Island with interest, the first domino toppled was Benjamin Šeško, who chose Newcastle.

As we reported on Friday evening, Benjamin Šeško has chosen Newcastle United. He is said to have quickly agreed terms with the club from the north of England regarding his salary, Newcastle have also agreed compensation with Leipzig, but we are still waiting for official confirmation of the Slovenian striker's transfer to the Island.

We still don't know how 24/25 has panned out PSR wise, it's entirely plausible that we could take a big hit this year (cushioned by CL money) and sell Isak next July so it hits 26/27 but also offsets 25/26 in the 3 year rolling calc whilst it still exists.

Price would be lower in June than July

Is that from that Ned Garlic fella?

Before all the Isak stuff was going on it seemed like it was always the plan to go big on a second striker (Delap, Pedro, Ekitike). I don't get the impression we expected Isak to leave this summer so with all that considered, Sesko seems like a signing regardless of what happens elsewhere.
