Pope saves them in my opinion. You massively underate him. The second one would have rolled into his arms. He has great positioning.

As you say, thats your opinion.

My opinion is that Ramsdale wouldn't have been tear arseing towards Aubamayang near the touchline last week leaving an open net.

But again, we'll never know.

Why did we loan him if he's as bad as everyone is saying?

So I think the loan was probably a symptom of not wanting to sign him as a long term number one, needing cover for Pope and recognising that when we sign a new number one he will hopefully use his feet more, so the players can start to do work with a keeper with that in mind. Or I’m just giving people too much credit and it was as hoc filler.

Hey, you weren't supposed to crack the cleverly hidden message so easily. Did you cheat and use chatgpt?

Piss off man. I'm on a football forum and I express my views. Go on tiktok or whatever and talk to that other arsehole Trump. Or is it X?

That was shocking by Pope and he knows it!

Let in a good header he was never getting to and a shinned shot with players in front of him. Some silly stuff in here.

Pope saves them.

Pope may well have gifted them goals in other ways  but I do believe he saves both.

The first isn’t great. But that beats plenty of keepers. The second is a clusterfuck all round. But it’s still wank from Ramsdale.

My worry with him is that he is getting targeted on corners and set pieces already and he is stuck to his line worse than Dubravka was. He actually looked proactive in comparison.

Not sure he did much wrong for the goal, the punch was a hard one and he couldn't see the ball for overhead kick.

Nothing that Pope wouldn't also do anyway.

Whatever.

I think we all know this lad isn't going to be good enough to be our permanent number 1 (I said that on here before tonight) and he was average at best today but Pope was costing us goals left, right and centre and needed taking out of the team so we're stuck with Ramsdale until he has a bad run of form and Pope comes back in. He'll be sent back to his parent club in the summer and hopefully we'll sign a much better goalkeeper.

Is the rest of the season going to be people saying we need Ramsdale when Pope starts and vice versa?

They are both good keepers with flaws. There arent that many world class keepers around, especially in the Premier League. Outside of Allison, who is injury prone and possibly Raya, every keeper in the premier league has flaws.

I get that Pope probably saves the 2nd but you could flip that by saying he could have cost somewhere else in this match like he has others with his decision making. Even if he wasn't injured, there could be little argument to him being dropped. Him and Ramsdale are now both under scrutiny which isn't ideal.

I think we'll have a less nervous defence with Ramsdale playing, but time will tell who's the better option for rest of the season.

Talking about "expressing my views" while complaining about tiktok and X is a tad ironic since those platforms tend to support free expression more than this forum.
