Mattoon Posted January 11 Share Posted January 11 He's certainly not the answer to our problems, made a couple of important saves but also a couple of unforced errors and can be a little jittery at times, his distribution wasn't as good as usual either but all is forgiven after his penalty heroics, won us the game in the end and can only be happy about that. On what planet should we be paying the rumoured £20-25m for a backup goalkeeper, who isn’t very good? £15m is too much on what I’ve seen. Spend what, £50m plus on two GK’s this season? Although unless we sell someone I don’t think it’s a good use of funds now you mention it. Ideally both need to be replaced and unless Pope is happy to be a no2 and sign a deal deal on that basis it puts us in a dodgy position with contract lengths and age.
