Lush Vlad
Fair play. Based on that he’s decent on pens and you’d sub him on for a shootout. Should/could have saved
GEFAFWISP
Pen specialist only moving forward. Crap otherwise.
TRon
Just now, Pilko said: Weird game today. Made loads of saves, was lucky with the one that got flagged offside, honking for the late equaliser, let about four pens flap past his hand but ultimately saved enough for us to win Still not at all convinced mind. Well done to him for the shootout but if that's his final appearance I'll be fine with it. Thought he was pretty great on the pens like. There was one he could have saved, the rest were hit hard into the corners, he did well to get close.
nufc123
Did well on the pens, but you cant trust him.
Checko
Went the right way for all but one I think and got close every time. Great shootout performance!
Dyeyzzon
Get him permanently ready to do a Krul when needed Delighted for him, kept us in that and won it for us.
gbandit
Pleased he has that game from his time here as he’s a really likeable lad. However, there’s not a chance we’re keeping him for next season and neither should we be
Newcastle Fan
Our defenders were knackered and he was not coming out at all to get the ball, any high level keeper will try and bail his defenders out after the game they played but he stayed on his line for the equalizer. I don't like him at all, he just leaks goals and doesn't inspire any confidence. Edited January 10 by Newcastle Fan
GOTONEW
He's not staying beyond the loan. But today he kept us in that game. And during the shootout he was exceptional. Even his haters have to acknowledge that.

He was shit for their 3rd goal. Think even their 2nd should probably have been saved. But he made up for it in the shoot out.
Aiston
Fair play to him, brilliant in that penalty shootout. Ten saves as well, two or three 1v1's.
Shak
Legendary stuff in the shootout, fantastic. What a way to finish his Newcastle career, storybook stuff.
ikri
He doesn't seem to have much, if any, control of the area. You'd want a good keeper to be much more vocal so defenders know when to challenge and when to let him deal with everything. He did well with the penalties but he was poor for 2 of the 3 goals in open play.
ryanegg
He reminds me of the kid at school who didn’t have the legs for outfield, so you’d stick him in goal as he’d always pull some jammy saves.
Big Geordie
I know he divides opinion on here, but I like the lad - if I'm honest. Some super stops for the pens.
Mazzy
He's OK, it's good he's only on loan but I'm entirely indifferent towards him and his performances. He won't be signed permanently because Howe clearly favours Pope. I could see an completely new GK group by the start of next season. Aside from Gillespie, I imagine he'll be here forever. You could pick up a keeper for pennies as our number 2 who would be just as good for that role.

alexf
Absolutely glued to his line. So many times where we have got used to Pope sweeping and then realise Ramsdale hasn't come. Botman obviously didn't cover himself in glory but I'll forgive him given it was 120mins into his return and he's slow as fuck anyways. Credit and redemption with the pens but shouldn't play another game if Pope is fit.

Thorpinho
I wasn’t keen when he signed, but I’m staggered by how abysmal he is. Repeatedly (and not just the third goal) glued to his line and unwilling or unable to come out. I’m no gk coach but surely the way he plays isn’t right. Would gladly never see him play for us again unless he’s subbed on for penalties.
Andy
He'd already had to come out and make a few blocks due to our defenders being outpaced or bullied, so I can see why he made the decision. Botman just has to do so much better there.
