I can’t believe there is any discussion around signing Ramsdale as our number 2. For what we’d have to pay as a fee and in wages. It would be a complete waste of money.

£10m would be too much, considering we need 2 keepers and whatever the price. He isn’t good enough.

50% save percentage in the league and a load of other terrible looking metrics. He plays smaller than he is, he’s always rooted to the spot. What are people seeing exactly?!

It would be completely mental to sign him permanently, especially when we have Vlachodimos who is at least as good, probably better, though don't know the full story there.

In any case Ramsdale would be bad value for money.

Had a look for free agents on transfermarkt... slim pickings for keepers

Mad that the last 3 years we haven’t signed at least one goalie under 21 with some potential who would be good enough to at least be a solid number 2 after a bit of development. Considering our PSR problems, signing Ashworth etc, we don’t seem to have many young lads who may be squad options even

I'd keep him for Saturday tbh. Don't think there's much between him & Pope at the minute but Pope's had it too easy in his time here not having to fight for his place. Wouldn't be against Pope coming straight back in after that as such but might be the rocket he needs.

I have more confidence in Pope but maybe that’s muscle memory from previous seasons.

We basically replaced Dubravka with another version of him. Decent with his feet, terrified of leaving his line and questionable saves at times.

This is where I wonder where our scouting is at. How can we not have a young goalkeeper on our radar that could’ve been a number 2 this season but capable to deputise for Pope? It’s not a major ask.

They did, he was in the opposite goal tonight.

We did but he left to Man City then the other went to PSG.

He's absolute pony. Let's have the keeper who can keep the ball out the net and worry about the rest later

He made a better attempt of it last night than the only other option on Saturday.

Lets slag Ramsdale off aswell.

Fucken wanker

Wasn't intended to slag him off really. Just his style is pretty weird, everything looks quite messy

Never seen a keeper scramble around his goal more than this lad

I think it's because his positioning always looks to be way off and I'm not sure he's always fully aware of where the goal is behind him. Their first goal a perfect example. He needs to be a step further over to his left so the striker has to try to shoot across him. He's left his near post wide open.

I don't think he's the worst keeper ever or anything but there's really no point to spending money on a backup keeper if his loan-to-buy fee is anything more than nominal.

Just re-watched the goal and I agree. He should cover the near post better, it was a lot harder for the striker to target the far post with Dan Burn right beside him

Yep, his angles are a mess - and tbh that is something that can be coached into someone unless they’re a bit dense.  His reactions, distribution and agility all look ok to me - but bugger me he makes it easy for the opposition with his positioning.
