Given our pre season form, why the fuck would anyone predict anything other than a mauling.  Which is what we'll get based on results

Because we haven’t once put out anywhere close to a full strength team? 🤷‍♂️

I’m going for a 1-1 draw.

Because generally speaking pre-season results aren't a good indicator of how results will go?

Generally speaking I agree but not winning a single game isn't that

Amazing the difference in feel in this compared to April. Villa have been PSR neutered and the January risk backfired. We don't need any further comment [emoji38]

If we get some signings in before though then I think momentum might start to shift towards us going into it. 2 good sides, almost always an entertaining one.

Might be nice to have Thiaw to help handle Watkins who usually does a great job in giving out defence a torrid time. No chance with th Howe bedding in period, but still.

Meant to mention last season but cheers to @Jinky and @Dancing Brave who (seem to) always drop the pre match clips a like. Making them for this season ahead made me feel queasy due to the sheer amount that Isak is scoring in.

Your efforts are much appreciated......it must have taken some effort to get going again for this season though!

Score draw. However, we totally destroy Liverpool the following week. We will be massively up for that game obviously. Both players and fans.

I’ve also got the feeling that it’ll be like a bear pit that night and we’ll beat Liverpool irrespective of the outcome of the Villa game

Wonder if we’ll try something different like a back 5. Defend deeper and kill the space for Watkins and Rogers and nullify their pace and counter their usual high line.

Martinez missing in goal for them is a positive also.

Big week of coaching ahead especially if we land a RCB and versatile forward which looks like what we are aiming for in coming days.

Only question I have is do I invite my Villa mate round to watch it?

I think we're gonna see a lot more of that this season, particularly in the Champions League. Hope so anyway, when it's worked it's really worked imo. Everton on the last day was the outlier. Chelsea pre-red card I thought it was particularly good.

reading all the negative comments makes it seem like we're back in the Ashley era ffs

would never know we're cup holders and in the CL

I know the transfer window and Isak have been disappointing but I think some people just love to whinge

tough game tbf, would be v happy with a point
