But you can’t just know for sure about a players fitness going forward. A scan or whatever tests won’t prove that he won’t be injured a lot in the future. Isn’t that the case for any player really? Every signing carries a risk. My point remains that there will have been lots of thought and analysis on previous injuries prior to making an approach. Im a physio and seem to be one of the most relaxed regarding injuries ok here which is ironic. Edited August 13, 2025 by ExiledGeordie
MagPar
Ramsey is a good player, but 40 million. Football gets madder by the day. We should have tried for Paqueta. He gets fans standing up.
TRC
Looks like King Keith was bang on.

But I’d say it’s likely that Willock gets injured more often than Bruno for example.

Isak, the online reaction was wild, and Downie probably didn’t like seeing his mate get ridiculous pelters, even if he did bring it on himself to a point. He didn't need to defend him though, and when he did he was a cock about it by belittling us.

sushimonster85
Have we ever actually been seriously in for Paqueta? Or has it always been fan fiction in here/on social media.

Alberto2005
What's Downie talking about, suggesting we could sign Ramsey to play him left wing and Gordon upfront 😂

You’d hopefully have Wissa but he couldn’t play every game, so sometimes Gordon would have to play there. And if Barnes wasn’t available Ramsey could fill in. He wasn’t really advocating it as THE reason to sign Ramsey.

I can't think of one game where I thought he looked comfortable there. Everton away is probably the only game I thought he played well there, and he missed two sitters in that including a penalty. Magpie Mover
I can't imagine that Ramsey really wants to come here unless we are giving him a big salary bummer. Then again im sure Anderson didn't want to leave and go to Forest. Football is so fucked.

AyeDubbleYoo
I mean, he will be getting a pay rise but sometimes players just want a move. He's not Emery's first choice, we are in the CL, we're a class club, we're managed by Eddie Howe. Plenty of reasons to come here.

I’d say his best game was Man City at home, but it’s obviously not an option we’d want to be relying on unless there wasn’t much else to go with.
