So we should ONLY buy players from Europe?

Don't remember saying that, just think we should be trying to unearth gems rather than spending a sizable chunk of money on premier league players with questionable injury records and career stats, just seems like a bit of a panic buy and a bit lazy.

As always happy to be proven wrong.

this is a wild take like. Given who our last signing was, literally days ago.

The problem with “unearthing gems” is that it’s very difficult to do whilst competing at the top end of the PL and the CL.

To compete at that level you virtually need all of your players to be on it at very high level, the majority of the time. You can’t have someone come in and adapt for 6-12 months, whilst playing.

Brighton do the ‘unearthing gems’ thing better than anyone (to the point where it seems almost impossible to better them in that regard), but how many times have they seriously challenged to get to the elite level? Never.

It's hardly a wild take to suggest we should be looking abroad more if the alternative is signing questionable premier league players, but by all means continue the pile on.

I've seen the same thing said more than once on here, must be if the face fits.

What ‘pile on’ 😂.

I disagree with your comment. That’s all.

we seem to have a decent mix, which is the best you can hope for imo.

Of course, having a transfer policy that only covers one market, be it the home or foreign market, will only ever get you so far.

But it’s notable that the teams established in that elite category, don’t seem to make too many transfers in the 15-25m bracket (unless there’s other factors involved).

We've been tracking him since January.

Yeah not a chance he plays against them and that's fair enough. I would want us to do the same if we were selling a player.

The club have scored hit after hit in the transfer market, I'll gladly trust every purchase they make until they prove otherwise.

True, but the people who were key elements in making those purchasers are largely gone now.
