I hate selling players to rival clubs..

But Ramsey has not kicked on. He is a CM being played out wide..

He needs to improve his passing and creativity.

If Eddie Howe moulds him into a box to box midfielder.. we will look very stupid in a few years..

From Villa talk. That will be the plan like, If the reason he isn't performing the way he was a couple years ago is his position, then £40m is outrageous value.

Would have been u likely even if he'd signed at the start of the week.

There's a thought though. I wonder whats the shortest time a player has left a club then played against them ?

In 3 of the past 4 seasons hes played an average of over 30 games. We might be doing him a disservice. Also, hes never been a starter at Villa, so im sure he will have been available more than that.

He turned Joelinton from a misfiring forward/LW into a box to box menace. Excited for this.

In the future it may look a good window and certainly we can have a good season but im reluctant to truly believe anything about this summer is "good", simply because the affect its likely to have had on preparation and morale.

If we somehow have a good start to this season, it will be a miracle.

It's a case of we got there in the end, we obviously had higher targets but couldn't get them and probably need to shop in the market we have ended up doing for a couple more years - not ideal but least we are getting players in.

I think the Isak drama has left a dark cloud on the window yeah but if he hadn't been a stroppy prick and we'd got some of this business done a bit earlier we would be viewing this as a good window so far.

Has anyone been on the Villa forums to see what their fans are saying? If they are angry/sad to see him go that is a great sign. Or are they indifferent?

Their forum is a hell scape of adverts.

is this actually good business? McAtee looks a better prospect and if liverpool are desperate id imagine we could have got 20m less for isak and got them to throw in curtis jones

Had a look and listened to couple Villa podcasts. It’s a case of sad to see him go but need the £40m but also a lot saying if he fulfills his potential and gets back to player he was in 2023 he’ll be a brilliant signing for us

The rumour in January was Ramsey/Barnes PSR style swap. Wonder if there's a chance Harvey heads there before next July ?

If Park was to turn out be a wonder find, and a genuine first team option, then that could be feasible.

Long way off at present like.

I said we'd be in for him before we were linked (not on here ), simply because he would have been an opportunistic signing where we're prioritising value above almost everything else.

Villa needed to sell someone and this is a lad that was extremely highly rated a couple of years ago, but has lost his way a bit mainly due to injuries. This is the type of signing we've made again and again and it's generally worked out well.

If his fitness is OK then I think this will be a really good signing, Howe will improve him for sure and his directness and technical ability from midfield will be a great addition for us.
