Who are intermediaries? People employed by the club but not officially part of the recruitment team? Surely not outsourcing to people for the first discussions?

An agent who's neither employed by the club (buying or selling) or a player, who stands to gain financially from facilitating the transaction.

Is the best way of describing it. Its likely someone who's worked with Wolves before, therefore they are likely trusted to have direct conversations more than say a buying club, or a players agent, at this stage.

So someone will be talking to Wolves and the players agent, that information will be getting relayed to Newcastle through the players agent.

The problem with this, is that quite often intermediaries will lie in order to use buying clubs for various reasons. Perhaps the player wants a pay rise, perhaps there is value in bringing another club to the table to start a bidding war.

Ultimately, we wont truly know what Wolves want until we talk to them directly.

Feels like the best option now at this point. I could see a scenario where he bags more than Sesko this season.

It’s a tough price to justify but he’s still young and has a year in the PL under his belt. It’s inconceivable that we don’t sign a striker before the window shuts and think he looks the safest bet out there.

"Formal talks" is all nonsense anyway. If Andy Howe (or whoever) knows a guy at Wolves and his texting him some numbers is that formal? informal? It's not like there's an official "formal talking room" both sides need to enter into consummate a transfer.

It's a term that means nothing and tells us nothing other than that the transfer probably isn't imminent.

Its literally what FIFA renamed agents when they tried to reshape the landscape and ended up in court.

Just now, Magpie Mover said:

He's as ineffective as Jackson, we really shouldn't be looking at these really average and that's being kind strikers. Wissa yes he's reasonably good.

How did he manage so many goals being “ineffective”?

DCL would have been asking for much bigger wages than Vardy you'd assume.

But aye, we have 0 strikers, we've already dropped 2 points through it and we're going into a huge game against Liverpool. A 38 year old Vardy at this point seems like a dream [emoji38]
