There's not anyone left. They tried that with Sesko. Boniface is gone. Osimhen is gone. Samu is injured for who knows how long. We aren't going to bring anyone in from the Saudi league. Julian Alvarez is wildly out of our league and would cost a fortune. Martinez at Inter would cost a ridiculous amount (£85/90M for a 28yr old. Obviously goes without saying that Kane/Lewandoski are both out of our wage reach and age range. That leaves us with the kind of players we are going for now. The sooner we all come to realise that the less disappointed we'll be. As long as we don't sign NO ONE, I'll be happy.
Guest
I’m hoping they pull a surprise from abroad, who?, I couldn’t say but think the premier league option is done now, Jackson will end up at Villa or Spurs.

Fair points, but Osimhen is no more gone than Strand Larsen. Both permanently signed after successful loan seasons (£65m and £25.5m respectively). Both Galatasaray and Wolves could make substantial profit. However, neither team seem to have much in the way of back-up strikers: Icardi at Galatasary, who played 6 games more than Osimhen last season with some options of swapping in wingers, e.g. Sane. Situation at Wolves looks worse. Silva (is he back from Las Palmas loan?) Kalajdzic (was on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt), and three other ‘forwards’ who could potentially deputise (González—untested, López—newbie attacking midfielder—and Chirewa—also on loan last year). Neither team, looking at their squads, seem likely to be amenable to let a striker go. Plus, even if Osimhen fancied the big stage of the EPL, and Champions League, not sure he would fancy leaving the tax advantages of playing in Turkey. Noticed that Osimhen once played for Phillips Albert’s home town team of Charleroi and more memorably for Lille at the same time as a certain Loic Remy (but after Yohan Cabaye, David Rozehnal, and Mathieu Debuchy; but before Remy Cabella). On journey down that particular rabbit hole, saw a stat saying he recorded sprint speeds faster than Mbappe that season. Have I ever mentioned I so want him here? Technically we didn't, we said the conditions for a sale haven't been met and we don't see them being met. Other clubs, via the media, have simply said not for sale. I did also say "if", like. It's a worry rather than a premonition. Edited August 22, 2025 by Kid Icarus
SteV
Oshimen’s on £400k a week at Gala. I mean I’ve no idea how much dodgy stuff is going on for them to afford that, but I don’t think we need bother about having him on any of our lists.

Forgot about the wages. *just checked ‘best sauce’ indicates £13m per year, so £1.08m per month or £250,000 per week (52 weeks). Goodness knows how they break that down though. Collymore’s recent statement about how Isak’s wages would probably be split was interesting—basically a hefty percentage of reported ‘weekly’ income being paid at end of particular periods of time or within loyalty bonuses and such malarkey. Crimson Cardigan
Surprises me that these half decent players at lower mid table/relegation clubs don’t all have release clauses. This guy should be available for 50m. Wissa too.

It's not just the gross figure. He's only paying around 20% tax in Turkey so to match his current take home wage we'll have to blow the current structure sky high.
