Would be ridiculous as someone on here put it to overpay for Isak’s replacement just so Liverpool can under pay for him. We overpay for one and keep Isak imo

Agree. I would have thought the thinking now is to keep Isak as he is the gold standard asset, and if we have to overpay for a Wilson replacement we can live with that if it saves our season. As long as the striker we buy is going to give us guaranteed goals.

The way people come up with these ridiculous valuations out of thin air and then complain when Liverpool fans do the same and insist we should be happy with £110 million for Isak [emoji38]

Well yes to a degree as none of the deals agreed

Here’s what I’ve based them off for clarity though:

Wissa’s agent informed us a gentleman’s agreement of £26m which if we are all being honest before the window everyone would’ve said a win all round for a player of his age, his service to Brentford and for us using him to rest Isak. By all accounts it’s £50m+ hence the £24m.

Wolves have just signed JSL a few weeks ago for £27m and will be looking for £60+m hence the £33m.

We have said all along we ain’t picking phone up for Isak deal unless it’s over £150m. I’ve heard nothing to show me that Liverpool will jump the extra £40m+ but I’ve been generous and rounded it up to £30m as it stands…

This £150m figure, where is that quoted? People keep asking but nobody seems to reply.

I do agree that Wissa will be overpriced based on circumstance, but if he gets us in the CL again will it be worth it?

JSL price is based on a pre-agreed fee before they got him on loan wasn’t it? I’d imagine it would be a lot higher otherwise.

Since when does valuations made before their breakthrough equal what their fair value is today?

Eales for starters but it’s been the much reported figure even as recent as last week all summer from anyone briefed by the club.

Where you been?

Link to Eales stating we’d sell him for £150m? I missed that.

First time I heard 150m quoted it was maybe a youtube video from Keith downie suggesting that sort of fee may be required other reports then followed similar lines.

Not heard anything official from the club except the reply to isak the other week noting conditions of sale.

Wolves only paid it two weeks ago. He ain’t been that big of revelation  The optics if nothing else are awful. Like Boumsong to Rangers for free then £6m to us 6 months later …

Wissa is a bit old to be saying it’s a breakthrough year. JSL is also IMO.

We should be constantly be looking to reduce the age of the squad in every position to prepare for a PSR buy to sell future.

Isak is younger than both his likely replacements

Years ago before PSR stopped these deals money naturally fell down the pyramid, now players and agents are earning so much the transfer fees are leaving the football pot and going into the pockets of a few multi millionaires

I'm obviously talking about their breakthrough as a 10+ goals PL striker. Which seems to be the experience we are after now.

Who cares when Wolves paid it, its when they agreed the fee that matters.

And why they should continue down that route. I’m ok with one stop gap but two just feels wrong and will cause us problems further down the line.

Eales has been on TV? Recently? Kinda feel you’re making this up 😉

Was near the start of him joining. Also like I say get out of your cave and do some reading and you’ll see I’m right.
