I love how these reports of bids always come packaged with a rejection.

Absolutely cba with this now, we need to do what we did earlier in the window when we changed our approach a bit. These PL targets are a waste of time now.

I swear you've said "I CBA with this now" about 20 times over the last 2 months.

Are the next 24/48 hours crucial?

Nope. No player is going to majorly impact the Leeds fixture you’d imagine.

Will go to the last day and see if Chelsea comes down in price for Jackson then you’ve a straight 3-way shoot out you’d imagine

There are genuinely top forwards with potential to be elite we could sign for that. Surely we’ve got to look beyond the PL now.

Which was my position to start with. It was said even last summer we were being quoted a massive premium for PL tested players. That is understandable in the short term, but you don't want to be left going into the last week of the transfer window still chasing them otherwise you've done something wrong.

But at this stage just need to make sure we get a striker in regardless of where he comes from even if it means overpaying for goals. The next DOF will have to sort this out in future dealings.

I’m reading between the lines. We wouldn’t be bidding in the £50-£55m range if we didn’t think a deal was feasible.

I admire the positivity but the last month or so does not necessarily match up with this [emoji38]

Manager comments make me think this does probably get done mind.

who?

Well Moise Kean would be my pick if we’re going someone 25 or younger with a high ceiling but a sufficient level of proven ability for around the 60 million euros mark. But it’s not my job to scout. What we can actually afford is a lot of money to a lot of European clubs who have far richer striking options.

Are we chucking full up front money bids in or spreading them over a few years?

Spreading them if the details of Thiaw deal are to be believed hence the higher price we paid overall.

Realise it’s not your job to scout but when you post saying there are players with elite potential available for £55m you have to expect people want you to name them

Tbf, he was ahead of everyone else on the new bid going in tonight even if he didn't know it had been rejected.

Also he told those that couldn’t see it Sesko would go to Man Utd and how it would play out step by step almost

No idea, is it beneficial to the selling club if we do that

Just if it's not affecting PSR we should be using PIF wealth to pay up front if that gets deals done for less money overall. Clubs would surely prefer to have the money in one go rather than spread over a longer period of time.
