AyeDubbleYoo
On a serious note it’s not too major a change to play a striker ahead of him in more of a 4231 or similar.

Most of the top teams play 4-2-3-1 out of possession and 3-4-3 in possession. It is possible to play with a number 10, Howe has just not figured it out to this point. HMSIllustrious
German media today report about a strong interest of Atletico in him (replacing Griezmann)…if he does that he might get crazy numbers in Spain but he wouldnt see the ball much in Champions League games. However, I still think their style fits much better to him and he could serve Alvarez chances on a platter day in day out. Atletico also seem to have okayish funds for s Spanish side, so they could maybe bid 50ish?

Even if we went with a number 10 system, which I still think is somewhat unlikely, we would be much better off with a high-energy number 10 capable of pressing effectively, Alex Baena for instance who seems a little out of favour at Atletico. Fak
If Atletico and King Simeone wants him then we should be doing all we can to keep him and turn him into a right nasty, shithouse bastard. And we should also appoint Simeone.

I think people under value Gordon massively we'll miss him if he goes this summer (which looks likely). He's a full backs dream as he always drops in and is a willing option for Hall etc. We haven't had that in forever. He then opens up the pitch driving inside after receiving ball to feet. I do agree that he isn't the correct profile to work with Woltemade though. I think Nick would be better suited with more an inside forward style either side of him. My worry with Nick is I just can't see him ever getting to grips with the Premier League. He doesn't have the aggression or the tenacity and that's before mentioning his lack of pace. I also think it will be a big challenge to replace him. We've not signed an attacker as good as him or well suited to Howe in 3 years. I don't expect us to sell him then immediately sign a better player. I've never been a big fan but he's a good player and I don't want him to leave. I jsut don't think linking up with others is a strength of his. He's good at pressing forward but he doesn't love doing the ugly work of tracking fullbacks in our own half, supporting Hall defensively imo. Willock and Joelinton combination was much more industrious defensively but Gordon added goal threat when he took the position.

I still think someone will test us for osula who has had a strong end to the season. Maybe there is a world we keep the 3 strikers and still sign a new striker would likely require spending less elsewhere and maybe Wissa going back to being a winger?or Howe using a no10 and moving big nick into that position? Alot of what iffery really may come down to how they do in the WC and what if any offers come in. If all we get is low balls or loan offers we may have no choice but to keep. Jackie Broon
It's really common for players to have average / poor first seasons at a new club, then come good in their second season. It is probably too early for us to be writing off Wolt and Wissa. Edited May 6 by Jackie Broon

But then after Howe was going on about him just needing a full pre season and there was more to come It would make the most sense for him to move on with how well Osula is getting on now. Keep the two younger ones that can still keep improving.

Would take some serious dodgy brown envelope type deal to get money back for Wissa though
KaKa
Will probably just loan him out for loan fees and getting his salary covered until his deal is up or take a loss on him.
