The College Dropout
Was decent. Held it up. We look to launch it to him way too often and he’s better when it’s into feet.
OoOGazOoO
Needs to do better in aerial duels given his height but it is frustrating when he is given very little service.
Lotus
Wissa at LWF will hopefully mean Woltemade coming deep will actually have some effect. We need goal threat from the wide forwards. I’m very much hoping that’s Wissa. The other options don’t have the necessary technique imo. Gordon has work rate but he’s not a great footballer. aussiemag
Need to pump long high balls at him in training and get him challenging Burn, until he starts competing.

I don’t think we bought Wissa to play LW tbh - I think he won’t play them together. Time will tell.
nufc123
We have seen Isak isolated plenty of times, its nothing new for us.
Gallowgate Toon
Fairly minging attacking structure around him for the vast majority of today but some of his touch and link play was really good.

Danh1
Those around him offered absolutely nothing. Will no doubt be frustrated this evening.
Conjo
It's so sexy how the ball just sticks in the team when the ball is played to him. Don't think he needs to become the tower you play long balls to. Adding muscle takes away agility and his dribbling will suffer for it. Just play the ball to his feet. Yorkie
Don't think it's fair to say his teammates offered him nothing but it was slim pickings, obviously. I was impressed with him in the first half and he was involved in our best moments, including the pen he should've been given. He was pretty dire from that moment on though, I thought. It just bounced off him and when we had crossing opportunities he was invisible. Being glass half empty: it's a shame we're having to rely on him because I can definitely picture more games like that; people won't recognize he's a work in progress and get on his back. Being glass half full: he's clearly a talent and being thrust into the limelight probably won't do him any harm.
TRon
Good first half. Looked a bit fed up with the poor support by the end.
Lush Vlad
I thought the game passed him by at times. All happening a bit too quick for him and physically he was outmatched quite often. At the same time. The only decent attacking play we had for basically the whole game. Came through him. I think we will be much better as a team when he is up to speed and the players around him know what he’s about, as well.

Plenty of positive signs we'll come good as normal after a very turbulent summer.

Newcastle Fan
Tough game for any striker to play but he held his own well, thought he was unlucky as he was getting nothing from the rest and every time he touched their player he called foul on him
wiseman
Hes been at the club less then a month, and been on international duty during that time. Will take time for things to gel, but he looks quite the player. He feels like a small striker in a large strikers body, his close ball control is deceptively good, while he needs to learn to use his physical presence more
Gallowgate Toon
He was cramping up after 45 mins last week, not a shock he faded a lot more on the hour - which makes starting Willock more frustrating imo. He won't be at Howe's physical minimum for another couple of weeks imo. Such a shame about Wissa.
Civetty
I think he'll be fine. The entire team just likely need to adept to that he doesn't move and play the same way as another striker did. Forgot the guys name.
