He's getting pelters because they couldn't sign him and discouraging promising germans from going to the PL is in their best interest in their bullshit two team league.

I know that, and i think it's the most lifting behavior. Who in their right mind in any other country would say that in a world cup year about a 23 year old? I sure as hell can't imagine anyone with half a processing brain doing that. Maybe if the player was some cocky bellend, but Nick is the closest thing I've seen to the most chill normal footballer.

All quotes coming out of Germany is incredibly stupid - regardless of how they want to cut it, from Lahm being an ex big named-pro / legend to the Bayern board members -- this is a 23 year old German kid who is their future / current #9 and potential star of their national team. He never disrespected any of those clubs or people; he's a good and honest pro and kid. Fucking lifting behavior to say that about him and put unnecessary pressure on him. Should be bigging up his move and saying this is good experience for him and hopefully he comes back to Germany and puts in great results leading up to the WC.

Reminds me of this. [emoji38] Turn on auto subtitles in English. They just beat Liverpool in the UCL final, and a german reporter starts asking about how surprising it was to see Real Madrid being in trouble in some parts of the game. You can hear him argue in the background after he storms out of the interview, and he says something along the lines of "Two negative questions, you can tell right away that you're German."[emoji38]

I cannot possibly imagine a Korean national team player being sold to a big prem club for a gazillion pounds and Korean pundits being like "eh, that's super overpriced" instead of being happy for him and supporting the guy. Just weird behavior.
