Woltemades v Union is one of them where you just try to get something on it as it's coming at pace. Instinctive but with a fair slice of luck too. Diame knew nothing of his at Brighton like.

 

Anyway, his pen was absolutely class

Isn't Isak's conversation rate worse than Nick's over the last year or so? That may be bollocks tbf, but sure I saw the stats and his hit rate was really high, and it's continued here.

 

The first snatch shot was going in but their defender reacted really well, unless it's someone like Griezman who might be quick thinking enough to pull off a cheeky finish, I think most strikers just lash it towards goal like Nick did and it's half luck whether it goes on.

 

He should have buried the 2nd. Reminded me of Isak's in the cup against Arsenal tbf (although that went in off the bar).

A strange but brilliant pen. He seemed to generate a lot of power just by straightening his leg rather than swinging it. I'd have thought it was hard to achieve accuracy that way, but he did it.

 it's not a hill I'm especially willing to die on. I think Zaius has provided the nuanced argument.

 

Like I say, just keen to see him look more threatening before I feel convinced that he's going to score goals routinely (this season).

Over the past year, according to FBref:

 

Per 90, Isak has 5 shots for every non-penalty goal, Woltemade has 4. Statistically atleast he has been more clinical.

Sat in the upper gallowgate behind the goal and was convinced it was going well wide after he hit it. 

 

Great that he has that confidence to take the ball and then score the pen in that way. Seems super committed to the cause and I think he has a lot of room for improvement.

 

Amazing how routinely he can just draw 3-4 oppo players towards him. Was a hard game for him yesterday, particularly in an isolated first half and with an unsympathetic ref but his attitude was absolutely perfect.

Showed great character and confidence to want to take the penalty.

As a new player there's not a lot to gain (expected to score) but a whole lot to lose if he misses.

Shola did the same a couple of times against Sunderland, he was already getting stick and to miss would have made it infinitely worse.

Love players with that kind of mental strength.
