Newcastle United vs. Nottingham Forest: 05/10/25 @ 14:00 (Sky Sports)

Need to be beating these. They look all over the shop.

For all the ‘nailed on we lose now’ craic, aside from West Ham at home last season I don’t think under Howe we’ve had too many of those kinds of games. I expected us to beat Bournemouth at home last season as well because of our run of wins and goals we were on but Bournemouth were then a much better side than Forest are currently.

Really think we've found something with Gordon-Woltemade-Elanga and that needs to be the first choice front three.

The rest of the team I'm fine with rotating a bit. It's the attack that's been a little bit off all season and needs some reps to get more consistency. The midfield and defense are well-oiled machines as this point so I'm fine with Eddie moving players in and out as he pleases.

Everton at home last season & Fulham at home last season?

Hearing MGW talk in the pre-match interview about how they’re trying to have more possession and play more doesn’t bode well for them given how well we press. Stuff like that takes time to implement and there’s already a stink around Ange. Obviously mad results happen but if we start the same front 3 and don’t play Burn at left back I can’t see us losing at all.

Everton are always a well organised side under Moyes, they might play ugly football but they aren't easy to beat. Forest are in turmoil and by the looks of it struggling to transition to a totally different style of play under Postecoglu.

You can never guarantee a result at this level, but their style under Ange should play right into our hands.

Sort of but I've just supported Newcastle long enough...

(And I remember a woeful West Ham side beating us last season)

Didn't just beat us, easily beat us, and they'd been shit before and were shit after

Both were better sides than Forest are currently; we’d barely scored from open play in the run up to Everton and there was huge pressure on it. Fulham wasn’t exactly the look of a banker either tbh.
