I don’t foresee Villa coming out and attacking us rather making life difficult and hitting Watkins on the counter.

im convinced after watching us return to our style against PSV - a team prepared to not just sit in - that the answer to our low block issue is getting Wolt to stay up front and actually playing to his feet and getting bodies round him. I get that its hardly a Pep based unpacking of our current tactical issues but I just don’t see our usual pressing style suddenly working again against teams not prepared to open up.

Short version is play Wolt over Wissa. Actually pass it to him and get Barnes near him. 3-0 win.

Agree. I feel like Wissa will be more effective than Wolt for the PSG match

The problem we have is the two strikers are so different, so each game the entire team needs to play differently.

Really shocked to read (on NUFC.com) that it is over twenty years since Villa won here in the league. 11 wins and 7 draws in that time. In fact they have only won here twice in the PL era.
That along with their Thursday night away game in Turkey, should fill us confidence (why am I suddenly anxious…).

Haven't beaten us eleven against eleven since 1989 here.

Feel the same way though - a mixture of not wanting to step on pure snow and that overdue feel, but on the other hand so is us winning at Anfield and I'm anxious the other way about that.

Villa have been slow starters in games this season, and we've been the opposite. We've not conceded in the first half hour of home games, and only twice away from home in the league.

If Bruno doesn't play, time for someone else to step up.

Feels tiresome saying it, but it’s yet another big game :D To be ahead of Liverpool as we go to Anfield next week will be huge. Just takes a hint of pressure off that game which will help us, and boy do we need some games over these next 6 weeks where pressure isn’t fully on us.

True. But I suppose on the other hand you could look at it that the same goes for the opposition in knowing what they have to defend against.

Must start for Wissa imo, Wolt is too easy to defend against currently.

Not sure we can afford to keep starting him with games every 3 days unfortunately.

I think it will be big Nick today, and Wissa against PSG on the counter attack.

It's almost like our recruitment strategy wasn't thought out .

Or we actually wanted two different types of strikers to give us different options.

Aye, i just think today is the bigger game tbh, probably because it is more realistic.
