[FAC R5] - Newcastle United vs. Manchester City: 07/03/26 @ 20:00 (TNT Sport)

My optimism was very much hinged on Gordon playing up top and Joelinton being in the midfield. Not really looking forward to watching Woltemade regardless of where he plays, everything that was good about us at the weekend, epitomised by Joelinton, is everything he's not.

Oddly enough, Haaland isn't usually the problem for us, it's usually some random players having the game of his career against us.

Expect Nunes or Rijnders to get a brace

Or just Marmoush to score as usual against us when he barely seems to score at all against anyone else it feels.

That fella is Marmoush.

Honestly very pleased to finally see some proper rotation. The likes of Gordon can't just go and go and go and go and go and us expect them not to break, something has got to give somewhere.

Trippier can just go and go and go though, apparently... 😄

Hmmm.... What's Eddie cooking here.

Outside of Osula instead of Gordon I feel like it's as good as it can get from what's available and Gordon is going to need to be rotated at some point.

Willock definitely deserves it from his performances and I'm very non-plussed on the whole Burn or Botman scenario. Either is good.

The vitriol towards Woltemade is crazy.

No vitriol from me, just a fair reflection of how Nick played at the Etihad recently and hope he is more in the game this time. A completely fair comment

For whatever it's worth ESPN here in the States has us in a 4-2-3-1 formation thusly. I like the experiment:

Osula

Elanga     Woltemade     Barnes

        Willock      Tonali

Hall    Thiaw    Botman      Trippier

Ramsdale

Aye. Would be pretty dissapointed if it plays out that way. Guy clearly has serious talent. We have to use him better.
