Watching back the cup final from last year, it was really stark how good we were at closing down opposition on the edge of our box compared to this year. I think having to double up out wide to help Trippier has played a part - but I'm hopeful with Tino and Hall back, Tonali and Joelinton can defend the edge with tenacity.

I believe!

Are we expecting the, same team that played them last week or do you think gordon and tino come in?

Unless Gordon’s got the shits again, he 100% comes in. I’m thinking Willock for Barnes and possibly Tino for Trips.

Willock had a tight groin in the Chelsea game.

Aye, Eddie seemed to indicate he thought he’d be alright in yesterday’s presser, but I suppose we’ll have to see.

From 442.

'UEFA official Francois Letexier is the man in the middle in Barcelona and has quite the reputation in his homeland. In 13 Ligue 1 matches this season, Letexier has brandished 61 yellows and five reds, whilst also awarding three penalties.

Letexier also showed 16 yellow cards during three FIFA Club World Cup matches he ruled over last summer, but is yet to expel anyone in his six Champions League appearances this term.'

Burn and Joelinton one yellow away from suspension.

Having to defend against Barcelona for long periods with what appears to be a very, very card-happy referee, what could possibly go wrong…maybe if he is fair it will play to our advantage as they fouled more than us in the first leg.

I agree with Willock for Barnes and Tino for Trips, and also Murphy for Elanga. Willock better with defensive work and also good for counter, and Barnes been playing lots lately. Tino for the 1 v 1 defending vs Raphinha or Rashford and gets us up the pitch, but Trippier will likely be preferred for his experience. Elanga good for counter, but we need Murphy's end product more.

You do know we are away from home and will most likely be hemmed in for the majority of the match? Elanga all day for me.

Willock is better defensively than Barnes in that position so it wouldn't surprise me either actually.

Think that's the only position that's really up for debate.

Where's the Willock defensively better than Barnes guff coming from? 😂

Watching them both for years. Don't think it's particularly controversial tbh. Willock and Joelinton protecting our left hand side was a big part of our defensive solidity for a while.

Thought he might bring Tripps back in.

Wonder if he's being kept for Sunday? Seems a bit too much to be giving Tino so much playing time after such a lengthy spell out.
