Got to Kyoto yesterday and, as you could imagine, we're delighted to find that the Hotel has Amazon 😍

Watched a bit of the games this morning (4am etc) while MrsG slept because I woke up for a piss 😂😂😂 but we're both gonna watch this.

Starting to buzz.

02.45am kick off and we getting the train to Hiroshima at 08.30 😱😂

As much as I admire everyone's optimism, being pragmatic with the recent away form we have been showing I'm truly expecting a tanking like Athletico did to Spurs in their first leg.

Not that I wouldn't mind a win - but highly unlikely.

4 away wins in our last 5?

Head says 3-1 or 4-1 defeat. Their home record and goal scoring ability is exceptional.

Heart says win on pens.

How often do they play teams who are as in their faces as we were? The two Madrids I could imagine and that's about it?

I think it'll be apparent straight away that we're playing a very different team to the one we did last week. Their record at home is undeniable before even getting on to how they normally perform there. If we pull something off here, we're looking at a result and very likely a performance in and around the quality of the cup final.

Barca 11 all but locked:

6 academy players, 9 Catalan/Spanish players.

Flick is doing wonders with no budget and some of these names.

Btw. Come and visit us for good banter at https://www.barcaforum.com/threads/cl-r16-game-2-barca-newcastle.21234/

That forum gave me a virus on my work laptop last year before the league stage game and I lost my job because of it. Fuck Barca tbh.

2-2 Toon on pens

Quite mental all this considering it was the ashley/bruce torture era recently

Keegan was right

Let’s have some confidence lads! PSG are better than this lot and we could/should have beaten them in their stadium in a game where both teams had to win.

Eddie somehow motivates this team for big games, if we play like we did against PSG in the second half, we’ve definitely got a chance.

If the ref isn’t a total whopper or blatantly corrupt we’ve got every chance.

From 442.

'UEFA official Francois Letexier is the man in the middle in Barcelona and has quite the reputation in his homeland. In 13 Ligue 1 matches this season, Letexier has brandished 61 yellows and five reds, whilst also awarding three penalties.

Letexier also showed 16 yellow cards during three FIFA Club World Cup matches he ruled over last summer, but is yet to expel anyone in his six Champions League appearances this term.'

Burn and Joelinton one yellow away from suspension.

Nothing will top the cup final, but if we progress here it will be close to that. They are like a machine at home, and I dont think we have much chance here (been wrong many times before).
