This is bullshit.

"We need to compete with other clubs by renaming our stadium for free. This helps us increase our spending on players by £0.00"

Now we're doing OK in the league, the club is back up for sale. Clear as day.

Well if that article is genuine, it also states the clubs sponsorship deal with Northern Rock expires next summer, yet it was reported in January 2010 that a new 4 year deal had been signed.

So is it as accurate on the naming element?

Ashley apologists scraping the barrel to defend him on this one like. The stadium would never be renamed? Yet more lies from Ashley and Derek.

I have a feeling this will go down without people being bothered too much, sheerly because of how well the team are doing. It saddens me to how peoples hatred for Ashley et al has lessened because of our league postion. Lets face it, it has little to do with them, more down to sheer luck. A few truly inspired signings in Cabaye, Tiote and Ba, and a man everyone thought was going to be a disaster doing an amazing job, did they know he was going to do this good of a job? did they fuck. Ashley and Derek wont be able to believe their luck, despite the cost cutting, bizzare decisions and lack of money spent, we're doing fucking brilliantly, and because of this, they can do as they fucking please without a bit of descent.

It's a bit of a catch 22 situation now isnt it though? Any unrest is at risk of being detremental to the teams performance, whilst this cunt does what the fuck he wants.

Sports direct arena? fuck off.

£8-10m per season they're hoping for. Not from Sports Direct though, oh no. :idiot2:

It makes no sense, call it Sports Direct Arena, then a few months later hope someone else will buy the naming rights and call it what they want......ffs :(

Is the stadium now hooker for sale to the highest bidder :(

Unfortunately I'd more than likely imagine it is

The more I think of it the more bullshit it is. Serves no purpose but to completely wipe out any goodwill that the board was slowly building up with the fans.

I'd gladly trade our current league position for the right to have our stadium not be named something completely retarded.
