Miggys First Goal Posted Friday at 16:18 Share Posted Friday at 16:18 Quote The proposed ground is further into the green-belt land in the park than a previous design, in which the stadium would have overlapped with the footprint at St James’ Park. It's not green belt. That and some other dodgy terminology indicates he doesn't have a clue what he is talking about from a planning perspective. Keegans Export Posted Friday at 16:56 Share Posted Friday at 16:56 If they've started showing proposed designs to people outside the inner circle there'll be loads of details leaking out sooner rather than later. Before the next home game I reckon.

Nothing in that article is news, it’s all just a repeat of what Luke Edwards has said, but re-published under a different journalist ahead of the celebration event to gain more clicks. Magpie Posted Friday at 17:45 Share Posted Friday at 17:45 65k will be the second largest club stadium after Old Trafford, it's plenty
STM Posted Friday at 17:53 Share Posted Friday at 17:53 Well if YAR needed a nudge on writing the cheque, I suspect holding silverware aloft at Wembley will have helped. I know why it's painfully slow, but fuck me hurry up. There's a fair chance that our chairman won't be in charge of the PIF by the time any stadium is built. Should go to 70k which will still be sold out every week. I just think that leaving SJP for an extra 12,600 seats, many of which will be corporate, so let's say 8k extra standard seats, isn't really worthwhile. Still have the same issues as now with 1000s locked out.
Checko Posted Saturday at 13:15 Share Posted Saturday at 13:15 Just make it 69,069 capacity. No-one will complain.

LFEE Posted yesterday at 08:42 Share Posted yesterday at 08:42 Would love to hear the thoughts of those thinking 65K would be the right size for the potential new ground after yesterday. Don’t underestimate the potential of this club. Price it sensibly, build it and they will come.

Yesterday was a free event on a Saturday, I really can’t see us getting much more than 65k on weekday games against certain teams. Yes, they’d easily get 15,000-20k more season ticket holders but it would attract so many ticket touts and we’ll become a tourist attraction. I rather a full stadium of the right type of fan than just sheer numbers.

Is it the crackheads? The honk of weed in the air? The wrecked playground and the lack of kids? It’s the park equivalent of a derelict house.
Slim Posted yesterday at 10:16 Share Posted yesterday at 10:16 I expect if they build a stadium there the park will be improved as part of the deal.
