Before the next home game I reckon. It was shown to the NUFC delegation at the meeting earlier in the month. Nothing in that article is news, it’s all just a repeat of what Luke Edwards has said, but re-published under a different journalist ahead of the celebration event to gain more clicks. It’s news that the FAB have been shown. That hasn’t been reported anywhere else yet.
Magpie
65k will be the second largest club stadium after Old Trafford, it's plenty
STM
Well if YAR needed a nudge on writing the cheque, I suspect holding silverware aloft at Wembley will have helped. I know why it's painfully slow, but fuck me hurry up. There's a fair chance that our chairman won't be in charge of the PIF by the time any stadium is built. Wallsendmag
15 hours ago, Magpie said: 65k will be the second largest club stadium after Old Trafford, it's plenty West Ham has a 68,000 capacity but I think they're limited to around 63,000 at tbe moment. 65k will still be well oversubscribed for us. Should go to 70k which will still be sold out every week. I just think that leaving SJP for an extra 12,600 seats, many of which will be corporate, so let's say 8k extra standard seats, isn't really worthwhile. Still have the same issues as now with 1000s locked out.
Checko
Just make it 69,069 capacity. No-one will complain.

LFEE
Would love to hear the thoughts of those thinking 65K would be the right size for the potential new ground after yesterday. Don’t underestimate the potential of this club. Price it sensibly, build it and they will come.

Yesterday was a free event on a Saturday, I really can’t see us getting much more than 65k on weekday games against certain teams. Yes, they’d easily get 15,000-20k more season ticket holders but it would attract so many ticket touts and we’ll become a tourist attraction. I rather a full stadium of the right type of fan than just sheer numbers.

Is it the crackheads? The honk of weed in the air? The wrecked playground and the lack of kids? It’s the park equivalent of a derelict house.
Slim
I expect if they build a stadium there the park will be improved as part of the deal.

Yorkie
Is yesterday really any sort of yardstick re stadium capacity? I wonder how many there wouldn't entertain the thought of going to a game before or since yesterday. I wasn't there so maybe I'm talking shit but it appeared as much/even more about pride in a city and Geordie identity (and to 'be there') than just the football team. I certainly know of a few who were there to revel in it for those reasons. And good for them, it looked magical. Don't get me wrong, the team is the catalyst, and as Newcastle fans we should take immense pride in how Howe et al brought a population together like that. But 100k folks on the Town Moor doesn't mean we should have a 100k capacity stadium.
Optimistic Nut
Other than worrying about what other people think about "empty seats" (I'm not bothered personally), why wouldn't we want an 80k stadium if you could sell out for a large chunk of games, get 63-65k for a low key game, and end up with an average of about 73-74k per game?
mighty__mag
Of course it is, how else would you gauge capacity, point taken that there would be many yesterday caught up in the celebrations just like any event, Hypothetically though, it comes down to economics, if it was made financially affordable for all you'd get 100k wanting to go, you've said you're not from the area, not sure if you have a season ticket? But let's say you don't a season ticket is now available to you and you could afford a season ticket and travel, let's assume all circumstances fit no Weekend work etc, you know you'd make that happen in your life. I mean they made 1000 tickets available a while back, didn't 30k apply,
