Cronky
LIVERPOOL want to sign Arsenal’s Theo Walcott in January. Kop boss Brendan Rodgers is willing to pay the England star £100,000-a-week AND play him in the central striking role he prefers. Liverpool reckon they could land Walcott for just £8million as the unsettled 23-year-old is out of contract next summer. But Rodgers needs Walcott to resist growing Arsenal pressure to sign a new deal before Christmas. An Anfield source said: “Theo Walcott and Liverpool would be a perfect fit. “It’s no secret we are looking for a striker to play with Luis Suarez and Fabio Borini. “Theo ticks all the right boxes. He is young, he is fast and he has great skills.” Arsene Wenger yesterday slapped a Christmas deadline on talks with Walcott. The Arsenal boss said: “There is urgency. We want to sort it out before Christmas, one way or the other.” So far, though, Arsenal have offered Walcott £75,000-a- week — significantly less than Liverpool have on the table. Rodgers is also desperate to get Joe Cole’s £120,000-a- week wages off the payroll and will look to sell Jose Enrique and Stewart Downing. No. Left back isn't a priority and he's a bit over-rated anyway. PS - Why would they be after Walcott? Don't they think that Sterling is good enough? Guest pintofscottsellers
We could do with a third choice goalkeeper like.
Lotus
I'd take him. Was a very good defender and it would do us the world of good to have a bit balance and actually have a left footer on the left. He also had a very good partnership with Colo. Guest Stephen927
£3m, with an added clause in his contract that he must play for free whenever we enter the top 6, and if we finish in it, he must admit his eyebrows look fucking stupid.
Tooj
Would be ecstatic to have in back in all honesty. Not that it will happen.
Darth Crooks
Would have him back, all my other reservations aside. Would add to the pass and move of the squad and I never saw many wingers get 100% the better of him. Like someone said though, this is highly unlikely and probably a good thing stability wise. Mick
I'd take him back,, Enrique on the left and Santon on the right would be a good upgrade when you add the understanding he had with Jonas and Coloccini.
AlanSkÃrare
We know that José is as good as a left back gets in this league. Having him and Santon as full backs would be fucking awesome.
aussiemag
Rodgers doesn't like him because he plays too direct, am I right?
nobby_solano
probably, he probably doesn't want him going over the half way line, just passing forward and sideways as many times as he can

Skirge
Luke Edwards @LukeEdwardsTele Jose Enrique will be dumped by #lfc in Jan? Would #nufc want him back. I always said he's suspect defensively, made better player by Jonas! Expand Reply Retweet Favorite
Guest palnese
One-on-one he's/was a beast defensively.
aussiemag
One-on-one he's/was a beast defensively. This. He was questionable positionally at times. But generally an excellent defender. His biggest weakness was his inability to play the correct pass or put a decent cross in when we were attacking.
Klaus
My only complaint about him when he was playing here, was that he used to try and play the ball out of defence in dangerous areas/situations, rather than just booting it to safety. It looked good when it came off, but wasnt worth the risk most of the time.
Ketsbaia
Buying Enrique would mean Santon is out of position, so no thanks. I'd rather get a different purple.

Lotus
What does Santon offer going forward from LB? Crosses, no. Cutting in and playing a killer through ball? No. Shots? No. Running towards the byline, stopping turning around and rolling the ball to someone else? Yes.
Guest neesy111
Out of position in RB? Yes, even he says he is out of position there.
