Bolton will be really up for this, but I reckon Sam might try and use that against them. It's the start of the season, they're at home, and the whole stadium will be roaring them on to get one over on Sam Allardyce. It might leave them vulnerable on the counter, with Martins trying to spring the offside trap. Viduka looked a bit off the pace against Sampdoria but his hold up play would be very useful here. Shearer9 Posted August 7, 2007 Share Posted August 7, 2007 All that seems bad for Lee, seems like everything's unsettled, he's been in charge what, 1 or 2 games, and already players are doubting his credentials, and he's even less focused on playing football and instead playing physical than Sam was? I wouldn't have a lot of confidence if I was a Bolton fan for the upcoming season. I still think they'll give us a tough game though because of the situation. I'd imagine Nobby will start, with Oba coming on as an "impact" sub if things aren't going well or if the Peruvian doesn't have a great game. Think we'll be going there to battle, rather than play good football, but there should still be enough in that team to get a draw or a sneaky win. If that is the team I'd expect the bench to be something like: Harper, Ramage, Luque, Martins and Ameobi, which looks lopsided but isn't too bad when you consider there are 6 midfielders in the starting line-up already.
