Even if he had wanted to, he couldn't have picked out Jones or placed it in the back of the net due to his limited ability.

Actually, scratch that. He did it for us.  :aww:

Bcause he's clever-or thinks he is. He couldn't not chase it and retain any sort of integrity. But he could however pretend to try and find Jones when the goal was at his mercy with a deliberately gash pass.

Shit substitution from Sbragia too..

"Oh we really need a goal, who to bring on... I know! The Geordie lad!"

This - with David Healy and Dwight Yorke also on the bench, what made him think Rocky was the best option?!?

Michael Chopra - Toon man of the match*

*Of course, it was really Bassong, but hey, that wouldn't have the same effect

Worst case scenario, if we get relegated, would he be welcomed back?

You can't get away from it - a geordie lad never strikes at his bretheren !

like Fenton?

(currently playing/coaching at Blyth Spartans, can`t believe that lad gets away with living up here)

I was told THAT b*st*rd is NOT an  NUFC fan anyways

(God rot the verminous b*st*rd to the deepest depths of hell)

Did you see Shearers face at the scumbags goal ?

Going through the motions of "congratulating" him with a face of utter misery would be amusing any other time.

Everyone around me thought he deliberately miss-hit his shot/cross and on watching that particular piece of play, I have to say I'd agree. Nice one Michael

I thought he bottled it personally.

Same thing to me mate. He definitely didn't do himself justice, it was far easier to force a save or score than fuck up in the manner he did.

bbc

Sunderland striker Michael Chopra has gone back to his spiritual home, Cardiff City, on loan until the end of the season.

Read elsewhere that its a loan with a view to becoming permanent in the summer.

They really dont wnat him back after yesterday!!!

As someone else said, maybe they think it was his 'Lee Clark' moment.
