Aye, but just looking at last season we were 12-2-5 at home. 6th best home record. I agree, more technical ability could help break those teams that sit back, down -- but i think the real answer is raising the quality in all aspects to play multiple styles or play our main style, better. I like this answer more. It's about evolving and elevating the play. I do not want us our our fans to simply think we should be a possession team and become pass masters - that is not in our DNA. Murphy was electric last season, but it was pinned a lot on his elite-level crossing last season. Ideally, our next step is we find either a better crosser, a better wide forward, or a better dribbler/passer. And any combo of all of that will hopefully evolve the play. Another great post. It was that maddening lay-down job between 8th and 13th where we got ran over by Bournemouth and Fulham. Were ass at home and away v Everton. Were ass away at Palace. Were ass at home v Brighton. In half of those matches, had we taken a chance or two early on (Isak, Gordon....) be a different story.

Longstaff and Willock.
-
But who's going to match him for goals and assists and also have much better ball retention? It's not like he passes the ball to the opposition often. A major part of his lower ball retention is due to the fact he tries crosses and shots. Easy for wingers to retain the ball more if they risk possession less but they aren't likely to get near him in assists in that case.
-
I love Harvey Barnes and his output particularly this season but I would support him being the sacrificial lamb this summer. Realistically if selling Barnes and Willock meant we could get Ramsey, Pedro, Elanga, Guehi and Trafford all though the door that would be a great window and leave us stronger overall. You would no longer have two nailed on left wingers but you'd have players like Pedro and Ramsey who can play that side as well as other positions. Elanga is a player who can go over to the left as well.
-
Bruno, Big Joe, Tonali Ramsey, Miley, Mainoo midfield sorted
-
Assume Rogers won't help them as much as selling Ramsey due to him not coming through their academy
-
For £29m its almost rude not to heroically bail Villa out of their financial mess.
-
He'd be a great pick up.
-
I’m surprised that there’s no better side in for Gyokeres, but then I’m always surprised when a player opts for the modern day Man Reds.
-
Ramsey's an upgrade on Willock, like. Be happy with that.
-
I cant see what the problem is for these promoted teams, stop pissing about buying 10 players for £10 million each, just buy a keeper and striker, Allison and Osimhen
-
Big fan of mainoo.
-
Miggy scored more than Joelinton too. What’s your point?
-
I'd sooner not help Villa but seems like there's clearly going to be a group of clubs which we're in, that are going to need to trade with each other just for PSR purposes.
-
Despite wasting millions. Man Utd can bring in a whole new front 3 and we have to squabble about
-
I can see him and Garnacho/Rashford being involved in some form of PSR fuckery to be honest.
-
They cancelled the BBQ iirc.
-
I think if Villa need to sell then vultures will be hovering over Morgan Rogers first and they might have to deal. Ramsey at 29m is very good business. Does sound too low.
-
Yep. Probably the main reason I don’t fancy Elanga that much. He doesn’t really change that particular thing much. We need to improve in this area, and if we can do that here and there and get some better depth then we go another level up.
-
Miggy has more premier league goals than Ramsey in the past 2 seasons.
-
I don't even know why Chelsea or Arsenal or even Liverpool piss about on wages and these fees when they should absolutely just paying what it takes to get Osimhen in. He's absolutely unreal.
-
After sacking 400 redundant staff, still paying Rashford million a week wages, and trying to buy Mbuemo on layaway....
