Leicester City vs. Newcastle United: 07/04/25 @ 20:00 (Sky Sports)

Very decent set of results this weekend. Some maybe will say Villa wasn't, but, if we win the next three games, then we will be at least five points above Villa and within 1 point (maybe less) of Forrest. Up to the players, if they have the attitude and play to the level, which is even close to the standard of the Liverpool game, then I just can't see us not winning the next three (even though Palace and Man U are in better form). Brentford, although not the best performance overall, was a vital win, as it was always going to be a test after the emotions of the final and parade. Make a statement lads tonight, go into the match with the right attitude and not thinking it will be a walkover. Getting Champions League is massive for us for next season. It will be the difference of adding one or two extra quality players and taking us to the next step forward. -

He'd also played the majority of his games for Everton at RW.
-
He was here for such a short time I had honestly forgotten how good he was that half of a season. Probably the best of his career looking at his stats, so fair enough. Mitrovic is a great shout. I'll change to him instead

The only time I ever saw a premier league team in person was Everton in a friendly in Minnesota and he played RW.
-
The gamble paid off for the Cup win so that’s it. Never a good gamble but result is great.
-
It wasn’t scouting software, if I remember rightly it was our formation and he was on the RW slot. No reason for him to be there if they didn’t intend, at least at that time, for him to be at least a more regular feature in the RW slot.
-
The only answer is Cabaye.

A piece of scouting software saying Gordon is a RW doesn’t mean we signed him to play RW. In his rare starts in his first season he started at LW right? Eddie always intended to play him there. -
Ruddy is leaving and we're trying to offload Vlach so potential there for 2 goalkeepers to come in.

It looked awful at the time. Anderson always had the potential to be worth £35m at some point - he was probably worth half at the point of sale. Our lad wasn’t worth the £5m Forest paid. Let alone 4x… at 30. And will never be worrh that. Not even half. It’s been a great move for Anderson and I’m delighted for him. Managing to stay fit the entire season has been crucial. A couple seasons back I thought he might not ve athletic enough for the PL. Then last season he stated sharply and looked too physically. Got injured and bar a couple games (Spurs he was great) he never hit those heights again. He’s gone to Forest and kicked on a level or two. Playing in a double pivot often. -
Plus he holds the all time record for head injuries which should put him in high regard.
-
Pep went to OT to draw. He started all the controllers and no wingers. He doesn’t have faith in this team. He doesn’t think us/Chelsea/Villa will keep going.
-
Wish our goal differential was better but as many have said, with two in hand it's up to Eddie and the lads.
-
Chelsea are pants. They were really excellent for the first 16 games or so. But been average to pants since. If we can keep players fit. I’m so confident we’ll beat them. That’s why I’m annoyed they Villa are still in it. Historical results still favour Chelsea imo. City too. City’s form over the last 20 games isn’t top 5 form. Similar to Chelsea a good start is keeping them in the running.

I thought he'd play RW. Yes, it is a bit odd.
-
You could see the hierarchy considered him as a RW from the Amazon documentary, you could see it on the screen in the background of one of the scenes.
-
Will never happen but I'd love Donnarumma here.

I met him when he came for Sunday Lunch at the George in Chollerford. I know he had a rep for being a bit up himself at times but he was on great form that day, tipped pretty well. Also had Frank Clark in one evening for a private function, kept the bar open until 5 am for him and his party, he was decent on the old guitar. Then good ol' Sid Waddell and Jerome Flynn (on separate occasions), refused to be called sir and we're great company.
-
I'm just glad he got to win a trophy to show for his time here. Vindication for joining us when we were 19th.

Used to put Nightowls on to fall asleep as a bairn. Alan Robson had such a soothing voice.

Are we putting an Ashley era player into the current squad or putting Howe back into the Ashley era here? Of the former then Remy would be in with a shout of the golden boot but I'll die on the hill with a flag saying HBA. If the latter then it would be Perez or Sissoko. Wildcard, Mbemba would have been interesting under Howe, really thought he was going to be the part for us
