I don't care if he's catatonic and needs to be wheeled out Weekend at Bernie's style. Alexander Isak is playing this game.
-
There is a large Geordie diaspora in Nottingham.
-
Its the last game. Unless he's so badly injured he can't walk, you patch him up and get him out there.
-
Adidas just released a golf clothes range for Villa today and released one for Man United last week so wouldn’t be surprised if there’s one coming for us.

Palace & Wolves? They are the dream compared to Bournemouth & Brighton.

Think about a Liverpool when it comes to 'levels' of spine. I've bolded the areas that their first team is stronger than our equivalent, and so is their second / backup player. They are struggling LB and at CF most of all. GK Allison - world class GK with great feet Kelleher CB Van Dijk Konate RB Trent (Frimpong) Bradley CM Gravenberch Szobsolai Mac Allister Jones Elliot Endo RW Salah Chiesa LW Gakpo Diaz For us, our depth is in LW, RB (assuming Trippier can last another season) and that's it. You can see how much work is required just to get the squad up to the right level of depth that wins PL titles.

Crowd will be fired up, late-ish kickoff, pints flowing, bank holiday, early goal to settle the nerves and its Champions league here we come! 3-0

I get the impression we've got no real intention of going for spreadsheet players. And I don't think we have to sell anyone this summer - far from it, but in a weird way I think that makes us a bit more likely to sell. Trading is definitely going to stay a part of our lives for the foreseeable future, and selling from a position of strength means we can extract maximum value rather than going to clubs with our begging bowl out. So we'll see. I'm certainly not expecting any big sales, but I won't be too surprised by some kind of surprise - it feels like we've got some significant moves in mind.
-
Isn't Gakpo and Diaz both better in that position?
-
We only need to be concerned about selling players whom can't be replaced. A healthy Isak, Sandro, Id throw Hall in there too. It's not that I actively want to sell Gordon, I just recognise we aren't owned by Ashley anymore and player trading on our terms is the way to go.
-
Depends on the significance of significant I suppose
-
I’d revert back to our usual formation for this. Murphy and Barnes either side of Isak if he’s fit - Osula if he isn’t (never happening). Would also go Miley in the middle over Willock as they’ll likely sit in and Miley is better at keeping the ball moving. They’re hard to beat under Moyes but I can’t see anything other than us getting it done.
-
It wouldn't be ideal, but a significant step back is a bit of a stretch given we'd likely only sell assuming we had someone else lined up (unless he requests to leave after he's told Liverpool want him and our hands are tied)
-
Yeah but I think it does say something when you sell your top young players. Like, I wouldn't want to replace him with 2 Brighton-style spreadsheet players just because of PSR. Unless we have to, obviously.
-
Willock may be on his way, wasn't Palace mentioned earlier.
-
Well from that POV I'm not against selling anyone. I know the money would be invested in any event. But I still think we can have a view on which players we would rather keep/use.
-
I'm not one wanting to sell him, but I agree with roca - we can be quite sure any money received would be for a good purpose. So we don't need to think in terms of steps back.
-
Would be more concerned if it meant willock and Barnes are that sides wing options if we chose to gamble on not getting an out and out replacement.
-
Still have Barnes as the No1 and allow us to grab a couple of decent players who may improve over him, if not already there
-
This is surely not right
-
Reminder if we sell him we get to reinvest the money. I'm not at all concerned about selling him personally.
-
It would be a significant step back IMO, we're talking about one of England's most promising young players here.
