  2. PIF are buying Durham Cricket club and assisting in the purchase of another NE club allegedly.
  3. I love international tournament football, always have since I was a kid. Some of my favourite memories are from Euros/World Cups. I totally ‘zone out’ from club football during the tournaments, don’t give it a second thought. England’s problem is similar to Newcastle’s. They need to turn up for the really big games and break through that barrier. It’s largely a cakewalk for England until we draw one of the usual suspects and we invariably lose. Southgate has made loving England quite hard but I’m still excited for the Euros.
  4. Gareth's biggest success in a single match is beating a generationally poor German side at home. 2 and 3 best moments are beating Colombia & Denmark. In that same time the failure Martinez has: beaten England twice, Brazil & Portugal Italy have not been to the last 2 World Cups but can still boast about beating: Spain, Belgium & England (away) to win the Euros. Even Switzerland beat France in a KO round. No matter what happens in the Euros. If England beat a top nation in the KO rounds, that's a big step forward. We've never done that in our history away from Wembley.

  6. Spot on. Id even pay 100 quid if you got 2 seasons out of it
  7. Aye, then money won. I wonder who was the first one to start the ripping off process?

I think the "success" looks decent on paper, but almost every time England have come up against good opposition we've fell short. The routes through the last two competitions were pretty kind and basically all games you'd expect to win (and comfortably in a lot of cases), but granted you can only beat what's in front of you. I think there's just a general disconnect that has built due to frustrations with the same players being selected over and over, annoying international breaks for friendlies interrupting the club season, a poor footballing style even with some good players at our disposal, and a manager who epitomises "boring" in almost every respect. Personally I'm mildly happy if England win but couldn't give a shite if we lose.
  9. Would like both home and away to be on alternating two year cycles. One new shirt per year, plus an extra third one if we get into Europe
  10. I think it was actually a rule that they had to keep them for 2 years - wasn’t it?
  11. Home Kits > 2 year cycle Away Kits > 1 year cycle Is the way it should be.
  12. That would be a very rare and sensible change, for environmental reasons if nothing else.
  13. Probably because red and white stripes look so shit, they make something half decent may as well keep the cunt for a bit
  14. Brentford still do don't they?
  15. Today
  16. Aye, miss the days of a home kit being good for two seasons. Change the away/third every season, but home shirt should always be good for two seasons.
  17. The way it used to be
  18. Apparently Nike are moving towards keeping some shirts for two seasons. This would be good if others follow suit.
  19. I think it would be absolutely hilarious if it looked nothing like the leaks or has one or two obvious differences. All those people on eBay flogging DH Gate copies at £25 a pop will hopefully have a lot of stock that won't sell. No Issue with DH Gate but so easy to just buy one yourself at £14 each.
  20. Going far in tournaments, getting to a final etc.
  21. General question as this may effect others, but I've just found out that I'm on holibobs from the 28th (just after the group games) until the final - I get back on the 13th July - Final is on the Sunday 14th. So, as I'm in another comp, I've worked out a route to the final - so would it be possible to post nearer the time the Match numbers and a score - as I believe as they are 'drawn' will be the fixture position - Above is the output from the s/sheet I've used to get a path to a winner, I always work it out so Italy win - hasn't done me badly over the years. So back to the predictions - would it be possible to do - Match 37 - 2-1 Match 38 - 3-0 Match 39 - 0-2 etc Also as well is there a 'bonus' for each of the rounds ? last 16, Quarters, Semis and also the final ? Thanks in advance
  22. Naah. They'll let this England game settle first, eventhough it sounds ridiculuos and has no connection whatsoever except for SJP.
  23. This not how amortisation works. He'll still have a small amount left. The amortization is extended with every contract extension. So KDB still has a small amortization cost to Man City. But you're right it's a good idea to sell him from an FFP perspective. 60m would be fantastic business. He's one who would expect megabucks to extend too.
  24. You'd like to think some hype will start to build marketing wise...
