So this season we have; Pl: 13 W: 7 D: 2 L: 4 Pts: 23 GF: 22 GA: 19 GD: +3 This is just in the league but then factoring in the cups as well (using points for cup wins): Pl: 17 W: 11 D: 2 L: 4 Pts: 35 GF: 29 GA: 20 GD: +9 Which is actually, really, really good (I'd think) - by comparison, in the league Liverpool have 29, Arsenal - 24 and Man City - a surprisingly, lowly, 18. Given that one of the losses was Liverpool where we deliberately played an alternative way to throw them off the scent for the final. For me that leaves a poor showing down at Villa but which was offset 4-4 and 0pts over two games, Chelsea who also offset to 0pts over two games but we have a GD of +1 against (+3 and +3pts if you factor in the cup win), then Man City who are seemingly the only side for Howe to really crack this year with -3points and -4GD. As a final point, when factoring in Forest as well as the next placed club that is +6points and +3GD and an away cup win on penalties. So we'd have won 13 from 20 (65%) and drawn 2 (10%) meaning unbeaten in 75%. Yeah - I'm bored and the one is watching some shite on tv *NB: Outside of these teams Fulham are the team who've probably had our number most with 2 defeats. Then Brighton with a loss and a draw to them, but compounded by a cup defeat. Then Bournemouth with a loss and a draw versus them.

How delightful would an Isak hat trick be and firing us 2nd simultaneously after all this Isak to Arsenal nonsense...
-
Huge point for them at Liverpool. Without it, defeat to us and a draw (matching the Man CIty result) at Southampton would leave them on 68. The point yesterday means they can lose to us and a draw at Southampton will get them to 69, which will be enough with their GD. Not that I foresee two wins for both of Chelsea and Villa. Our 3-4-3/5-4-1 looked very good first half yesterday and if chosen, I would expect it frustrate to Arsenal again like the last time in the Carabao semi second leg. Isak not firing as he was earlier in the season is my main concern. Overall, our form is way better than theirs.
-
Surely can play for another few seasons considering it's never been pace he relies on?
-
200% player of the season. Not even in question whichnis radge given some players are comfortable 7s throughout. Only player to perform as consistently well was Hall and he hasn't been fit for weeks now. Burn has played at about an 8+ for all but like one game (I think).
-
They'll be so terrified of the ramifications and scruity of losing, that they'll bottle it spectacularly. Everyone is already laughing at them for 10 different reasons. They're shiteing themselves.
-
Lots of people want us to sign Mbeumo and I am one of them. But given how well Murphy has done consistently and also the financial constraints, I won’t be surprised if the club goes for a younger and cheaper option like Matheus Fernandes from Southampton who plays CM but can also cover RW.
-
Nick Pope confirming he’s called Cheese at the club. Massive.
-
No idea how we ended up with twice as many yellows as Chelsea.
-
Back to his best today, really cool, calm and collected. Did a major service for us in our own half.
-
In an ideal world he'd definitely be loaned out but sadly we don't live in that world. longy looks to be done, and Willock should probably be moved on, if we do that and let Miley go out on loan we would need 3 central midfielders which I just don't see happening.
-
This isn't even true and even if it were it's grossly misleading. Wharton has 31 PL starts with 2500 minutes played, plus another 800 minutes in domestic cups. He also had two Championship seasons at Miley's age accounting for another 3,000 minutes played. Miley has half as many PL starts with 1500 minutes and also around 800 cup minutes (including CL). We're probably 12-18 months away from being able to make a fair comparison to current Wharton and he'll still be younger than Wharton is now.
-
Please stay healthy and if there is any doubts just shut down and wait for the next season
-
Ha, that takes me back. Crazy what eventually became of him pretty shortly afterwards.
-
He did it more today than I think I can remember ever seeing. But fuck it, he was otherwise excellent today. Really helped set the tone. It was the game I could see him having at a crucial time in our run in, much more like his old self. Just need him to return to putting that out consistently now.
-
Thought he quietened down a lot in the second half, just think he was more tired.
-
Assuming true, it's the kinda of ffp dealing is applied however Ramsay doesn't look the same since he returned from injury. Barnes is the much more effective player at this stage although Ramsay is both a long term target and has a better age profile
-
It's mad how he can go long spells without playing and come back without messing a beat. A true rolls Royce. Also obviously we discuss squad a lot and we've achieved so much this season and this lad has barely played. Lewis hall has been out for long periods too. The cartel better hope we don't have money to spend because we are about to pack them up
-
We do a fair bit of that ourselves to be honest so I'll take that as part of the business... Thought he had a great game, particularly considering the incident.
-
Think it has to be Burn for all the reasons that have been said. Hall was probably mine prior to his injury, but Burn's been a colossus for us all season long, even in the bad times.
-
Over 130 years of professional football in this country and only since VAR has been introduced have such incidents been deemed offside.

Newcastle United 2-0 Chelsea - 11/05/25

That second half was odd, I'm not sure what was going on. Can only think we looked to defend against a toothless ten and hit them on the break, but our break was piss poor. So they just kept coming back. Meekly. Anyway, job done. Score a goal or two and don't concede and you'll add 3 points to your total. Win ugly and you're laughing and all that. -
Just seen the offside goal Palace scored against Spurs with the offending players feet planted in his own half How anyone can be for these current offside rules is beyond me.
-
What was he booked for? I just went back and watched it again, and during the initial foul (on us from which Bruno scored) he was miles away in our half. The camera never showed the melee or whatever went on, just the ref then getting the card out.
