João Pedro - Chelsea Agree Deal With Brighton (Ornstein)

It's certainly one of the things stopping us yes -
Well, probably because Eddie knows more about this great sport than anyone else on this forum, even TCD. Na, I get your point though. Discussion is fine.

Are you suggesting what’s stopping us is that we don’t have any assets to sell? Thats the only thing stopping us? -
More than likely, yes. I was probably being a bit flippant, sorry. The cartel wouldn't be bound by those rules but we certainly would.
-
Why not say that then? I don't see the point in what value "Eddie likes him" adds to be honest. I haven't watched him so idk, but I would assume if you've qualified for the CL you would be targeting a higher standard of player than one who is available for free. Like giving actual reasons why you think it makes sense is fair enough but boiling it down to the manager likes him so who cares defeats the point of this whole thing.

sell all our assets and move to Newcastle under lyme for much cheaper.

Now I'm worried that we were interested.
-
What assets have we to sell to ourselves ?
-
I bet Premier League will start looking into the rules now that a threat to their favourites did it.
-
The only Di Marzio worth his salt is Ciro. The rest are all imposters.

What did we sign and what did it say? If it says we won’t exploit loopholes - we’ve already done that. If it’s to not challenge the rules - we haven’t and won’t. This ‘signed prior agreement’ line doesn’t standup to scrutiny. -
The point is that surely a) we are after DCL given all the links b) Howe sees DCL brings something to the squad that Wilson doesnt (he does) c) given our PSR restraints, it is quite easy to count 1+1 and understand that why we might look for a player like him. Like we were after Tosin, who isnt great either.

Don't threaten me with a good time. See post above. -
Mr Serena Williams bought 10% for £20m as a favour to his private equity backers which Chelsea then used to inflate the value.
-
Not really. Has to go thru the fair market value just like transfers & sponsorship does it not?
-
Me too. I dont think anyone should talk with me about football. Sorry.
-
Yes. Unless you've signed a prior agreement not to be a naughty boy before buying a club.

A torrent of absolute horseshit. Anyone citing Bailey as a source needs binning to the Twitter nonsense/nonces thread. Otherwise known as Burnsie’s Banter Bin.

PL voted on the selling assets thing - I don’t even think it got to a vote. Didn’t have enough support to go to a vote. It’s open season. Except for us. But keep blaming Chelsea and the rules. Amortisation is capped at 5-years btw. The 7-year deal thing is part of a broader strategy Chelsea have to stockpile talent. -
Saw a post on SSN that Porto were looking to bid for Harwood-Bellis and the price mentioned was fairly cheap. If we can overlook the stuff counting against him - double barrel surname and soon to be part of the Keane family, surely at a decent price he should be worth a punt England international, right footed CB who is good in the air and much cheaper than Guehi.

I gather Lloyd Kelly is flying in for them

Anyone else attending his leaving drinks shortly?
