Newcastle United vs. Everton: 25/05/25 @ 16:00 (TV tbc)
Optimistic Nut replied to HaydnNUFC's topic in Football
Pope Livramento Burn Schar Botman Bruno Tonali Miley Murphy Barnes Isak (Gordon if no Isak) I'd chance Burn LB in the hope they offer bot all if it means going back to 4-3-3 here. Wilson offers nowt, I don't think this is the game to throw Osula in as number 9 so would be happy with Gordon there if we can't patch Isak up. -
It's our turn to play a team with nothing to play for. They had their big summer send off at Goodison today. We really should win comfortably if we perform. Barnes on the left please!
-
I think with Amad back Man U have a chance of getting something against Villa - I would say they were convincing against Spurs who had their chances.
-
Arsenal in for Mbuemo apparently.

Genuinely excited/intrigued by the window. I feel like my order of priorities changes every time I watch us

The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Ancelotti to Brazil
Optimistic Nut replied to cp40's topic in Football
I think he could do a good job but he's on a hiding to nothing going to the Championship. He'd have to get them up, and then he'll have zero chance of keeping them up. If he goes up pissing the league playing great football, it might get him in the running for a Brighton/Bournemouth/Everton/Palace level job I guess. -
He’s absolutely brilliant.

Ah sorry, misread. -
Inject Trippier, Joelinton and Isak with whatever is needed. 3-0 by half time, please. Pope Trippier Botman Burn Tino Bruno Tonali J7 Murphy Isak Barnes Probably be on TV this one, right? This and Forest v Chelsea / Man Utd v Villa?
-
I’m talking about them just to beat Man U though.
-
Villa will win. Man Utds focus will be on winning the Uefa Super Cup

Nah we have the best fixture and a hefty GD advantage over two rivals -
After having the hardest fixture (on paper) of any of the CL chasing pack this weekend, we have the easiest next. Home against a team with nothing to play for.
-
Please dear god no. Nothing is/would be cringier. Potentially ahead of Pickford keeping his 3rd clean sheet in 4 against us as well.

Villa do have a rotten record at Old Trafford mind. -
Completely disagree. To me, it showed us that we are only 3-4 good players away from a sustained stay in the top 4. We played well… would have won that game had we been more clinical, and only lost it due to a stupid error and a great strike.
-
Yeah he was mint. Interesting comment in that interview BTW ‘played in a position where I shouldn’t play’. Does he mean where he’s playing now e.g. he should be central? We were fucking shit when he was playing there.
-
I didn’t love how he set us up second half, and has done multiple times this season, but it’s not like a strong criticism or anything. I just wish he’d be less hesitant. Too often we come out in protectionist mode and just hope to hold on to a lead or keep a draw while trying to nick a counter attack goal.
-
I need to see something different from him mentally. Maybe it will come one day.
-
I thought they would be 1/2 or so
-
So frustrating when he blazes those opportunities over the bar and wide. At least force a save man.
-
Yeah, he has the attributes to play there, he’s very direct and physical. Hes raw of course but I like him
