  1. Past hour
  2. We do seem to be running into this issue with players we are chasing. Burnley also have a sell on fee which is inflating the fee they are asking. I guess it just comes down to which player still ends up being better value. Even with the inflated fee Elanga might not cost any more than Semenyo.
  3. The sad thing is that PSR encourages us to sell players like Anderson. He would be useful player and perhaps would allow us to sell Joelinton to Saudi in a year or two. He might get England call up, but on the other hand he is 23 next November, so he should be pretty soon if he is a top player. With "decent prem level player" I mean players that are not good enough for a bigger role in top club, but could be valuable squad players. Bit like Curtis Jones, younger Callum Wilson, Tosin, Jacob Ramsay, Ross Barkley, Raul Jimenez.... I might not make any sense with my posts. But I'd like to have him in our squad in place of Willock.
  4. I always thought Elanga was underrated at Man U and looked very dangerous whenever he came on. Weirdly I’m not as excited now but I don’t really know why. Maybe I’m buying into this idea that he’s just a pace merchant but I don’t watch him in enough detail to know if it’s actually true.
  5. Read somewhere that it’s 50% on any profit made? Who knows. Doesn’t help either way if we want him for a “fair” ish price.
  6. Liverpool, Villa, Arsenal and Man Utd fans are the worst.
  7. He’s as good as Semenyo who’ll go for similar, if not more. Plus, don’t Man Utd have a 50% claim on any profit made on the deal? Would suggest that they’d need more to cover for that.
  8. No chance he gets in any top 6 starting 11 right now. He's a decent PL player, can't see any justification to suggest he's shown a higher level than that to date. The fact we where forced to sell him and so got a bad deal is annoying, but there's no reason to be wishing he'll comeback.
  9. Point being he made a profit despite all of the losses he ran up.
  10. I’d argue the 00s was a different era, but as we went into the mid 10s, he made sure Chelsea was not operating at those losses.
  11. Unless it’s a state that owns you, no one man can or wants to keep running big losses. It’s a huge gamble Villa are going down.
  12. Don't know which bores me more, Ronaldo or the very concept of the Saudi league... Mind you, if they offered me a contract I'd take it. I'm in the best form I've been in for over 50 years.
  13. 61m EUR/~£51m according to Bild today. I do wonder if we might be interested in him given he can play up front, as a number 10 and as a wide forward. That's possibly the same price we'll be trying to get Joao Pedro for though I suspect (not that I think Brighton will let us have him for less than £60m)
  14. I feel like the 'now playing for Nottingham Forest' bit should mean this thread just gradually slides off the front page.
  15. Makes me laugh that every journalist worth his salt is saying it ain’t a goer for a wide variety of reasons but they’ve worked themself into such a frenzy about it they are adamant they know better. Odd.
  16. He's too small and weak. Looks good for the U21s but I've been underwhelmed by him in the PL. Plus he would cost north of £40m
  17. In that case it will happen. These days clubs very rarely keep a player against their will. It will either be that he signs for us or gets an enormous wage hike.... which might create a new set of problems for Forest.
  18. Think there’s a valid argument for a few. But it’s just because he’s English and playing for a lesser side, he won’t get the traction. He’ll be in full England set up this season, 100%, then his name will start getting linked to the top sides as we head towards summer 2026. I think he’d be great for Arsenal and compliment Rice / Odegaard. Decent Prem Level player for me is a very good player. Get them in a side that has more of that level with a couple of exceptional players, you have a title challenging side.
