We've apparently liked him for weeks but yet to agree a fee which is the key bit. As Howe said, you need to move quickly to secure good players as there'll always be others sniffing about. That doesn't mean Chelsea wouldn't have swooped in had we agreed on a number or JP might stall on personal terms, but it's frustrating we can't get over that key hurdle. I'm worried we're so PSR burnt that we want to engineer the perfect deal, even if it takes us deep into the window. This year is going to be tough, I think it's imperative we get off to a good a start as possible. This is exacerbated by Howe's standards meaning players need bedding in time - preseason is a fantastic leg up for that process.

That just shows he hasn't featured there much so far in his career though, right? I think there's a bit too much of a focus on positions rather than the roles the players play and what they're being asked to do. Just because a player starts on the right, doesn't necessarily mean he is going to be playing as a touchline winger. Two examples from this past season were Morgan Rogers at Villa who featured on the right in a good number of games for them, despite having not really played from that position before, and it was the same with Desire Doue at PSG. Both attacking midfielders that had the freedom to find spaces to impact the game from that right side.

To be fair to him the last time he was actually right about something it involved a transfer from Burnley -
He's on the Carling then. Similar.

I don’t want to actually have to listen to it - could you give us a clue?

Palmeiras vs Botafogo has started off really well. Benfica hopefully sending Chelsea home later. England vs Germany final in between too. Decent day of footie if anyone wasn't aware!

Does this come after skys “27m rejected” headline? -
I think that'll end up being a good signing. They need six or seven more of that quality to give themselves a fighting chance of staying up.

21 years old regular starter in ligue 1 and Senegal international. If this is how Boehly values players maybe we should have a look at other players at Strasbourg? Only going by highlights he seems to be a great pick up for them. Fast, strong, attacking minded player who seems to be good in transition, which I imagine will fit a team like Sunderland well when fighting to stay up this season.

Yeah but they'll be the local all inclusive variety.
