Howe would have had him absolutely crashing around for us as a #8 and he'd have been been a great fourth choice midfielder rotation. Not that I'm gutted we didn't get him, and his age profile isn't perfect, but can absolutely see why Eddie fancied him. Particularly as he seems a great lad and a top pro too.

Pleased for him like, he’s much better than Longstaff. Also must be a smart lad to engineer an exit from Man Utd. I didn’t want us to sign him but he clearly has some good attributes.
