This is what I hate about Adidas it’s absolutely garbage. All shirts with the same boring template.
  4. Lower in numbers yes, but not per capita. There is obviously a much smaller population up here. The knife crime in London is becoming a racist trope at this point, it’s often significantly below the likes of Glasgow, Liverpool and Manchester. Also the suggestion that knife crime has been brought to these shores by those with excess melanin syndrome, must be news to the real life Peaky Blinders, Glasgow razor gangs, Teddy Boys in the 50’s and on and on through the history of this island. i think the point that TCD was making was that poor people living in London have the luxury of being in closer proximity to opportunity, than those elsewhere. It’s why the entirety of the deindustrialised North suffer brain drain, where their brightest kids leave for University and due to lack of opportunity only a small proportion ever return. its the odd dichotomy of London, a dirt poor place like Tower Hamlets shares a postcode with Canary Wharf, sometimes the proximity and visibility can be the inspiration that bright poor kids need. "You can’t be, what you can’t see" and all that. Not disputing the overall point you’re making either btw, just hopefully adding extra colour and context 👍

  6. Real Madrid given a late controversial penalty to get them out of trouble, surprise fucking surprise.
  7. No reason to doubt you and assume the expense is always shown in the accounts except the purchase cost. So at the minute depending on what rate the 5% actually cost to aquire then it's more like 600m give or take to date. I guess they may need to put more in for the summer spend but the bigger test is yet to come how a stadium is financed if it's all capital committed or financed. Do we finally buy and build a training ground "complex".
  8. Still early doors but was billed as a big summer by those NUFC insiders, pressure will only build on club the longer summer goes without any business. The squad is just ill equipped to deal with CL football currently, feels like a lot of work to do and everything around the club seems very slow paced at the moment.
  9. The club purchase is separate - and you’re right, it was £305m (PIF’s share of that was £244m - they have since bought a further 5% from Staveley’s previous stake) Ashley’s loan was part of that number - which was about £140m at that point

I believe that the North East is the only region where knife crime has rose. I’d be interested in a more in depth look though. Does that include only stabbings, and threats with a knife, or does it include being stopped and carrying a knife or something that can be used likewise? Both Durham constabulary, and Northumbria police feature below London Met in numbers for crime statistics. No North East City or Town requires in the UK’s top 10 for crime either. I’m not dismissing that the North East doesn’t have these problems, in fact I’m well aware of it, and well aware of the causes (poverty). What I’m saying is though is that for every success story of children escaping poverty in London you have countless others dragged down under it. There are success stories of escaping poverty in the North East as well.
  12. Tino must be injured right? Very odd that they benched him and didn't bring him on either, considering he looked like one of their best players and probably most experienced.
  13. They need to ‘consult’ the supporters. And ‘consult’ might be ‘heads up - we’re changing the home kit’ edit: the same rules protect the club crest - which is why the club are ‘consulting’ the supporters. They’re still doing it.
  14. You have a head for figures so feel massively under qualified to chip in is the 338m what accounts show they have put in? Assume that doesn't include the club cost? I think that was 305m? Did we also pay little Mike back his loan money or was that part of the 305 I try not to remember? Genuinely interested not trying to put you on the spot 😁
  15. Wouldn’t worry. That Leeds pic is a terrible AI edit. Noon badge on sleeve. Zoom in on the boots 😂
  16. It’s no-ones debate, feel free to £338m invested so far - the club spends its own money too of course. It’s not chicken feed, but it’s not close to a billion either.
  17. Someone at the Mexican FA must be noshing off an adidas executive. Apart from the fangs these look pretty bespoke. I’ve also always thought what I really need every time I’m in sweltering Mexico, is a long sleeve version.
  18. Not my debate so apologies but must be getting close to that all told. 400/450m on transfers then cost to buy club, capital expenditure on current training ground and stadium tidy up, plus womens team etc. Obviously not all of that is funded with them throwing the money in of course.
  19. No, just people on here wanting him. Not sure he would be a fit.
