Name them. If they’re good enough they either play or move on and find form. If they aren’t, they sit and collect a wedge they can’t justify. I would say maybe Nkunku but injuries have been a massive factor too. He was on the up in his career.

I'm not sure it's clear what the contract offer was TBH. Could have just been a discussion about his future out of respect for what he's done for us. I hope it wasn't that we really wanted to keep him because we think he's really valuable. We'd have to be very thick to believe that.

Perhaps Villa are playing a longer game, take a few points hit next season but protect the squad and look at Europa as the route into the champions league for 26/27
