@Milanista’s last post was when Sandro was about to join. July two years ago, on page 169 of this thread. Wish he’d come back and gloat a little bit about his prediction on Tonali being world-class. His lengthy essays on Italian football and players were a joy to read.

Watching Wolves v Leicester makes me really want Cunha. He’s lethal when he’s on song.

Any model where you sell your best players on a consistent basis is not a good model for footballing success.
-
Hakimi, Carvajaal, Vasquez, Nacho, Sarabia, Saul Niguez—their academy is not bad. However, they haven't produced anyone at Messi, Yamaal, or, for that matter, Pedri, or Gavi level in ages.

Nothing to fear from this lot despite or less than stellar record. We can't let history hold us.
-
Eddie doesn't look 100%. Glad he is back though.

Get revenge for the Fa cup defeat pls

Down to +6 after Villa, but that's a satisfactory run for me. We got 4 points from 12 in the equivalents of our last 4 fixtures of the season: Brighton (a) - 3-1 loss Chelsea (h) - 4-1 win Arsenal (a) - 4-1 loss Everton (h) - 1-1 draw Every one of them is winnable this season. I think 9 points is a realistic hope.

Nearly 2 goals a game over nearly 4 years is outstanding like. When the day comes, hopefully decades down the line, that he leaves, it'll be at that pointbthat we'll realise how spoiled we were like.

Ow now. That ent bosting at aulllll bab.

Thought he was fine without pulling up trees. I know the angry lads always need someone to turn on but it was slim pickings today as no one was particularly amazing or shit.

That nonce at CB is their own ain’t he?

Happy to peddle it albeit he said knee not hip as the knock. Suspect “don’t be a silly cunt and cost us the FA Cup and get yourself suspended for a final” is as much as motivator and rightly so with how Barnes has played.

Feels like that's a face saving porky mind

Surprised that Bruce is breaking the 1.

Bey a treayt ti watch Jack Clarke score past them next seyson at the Steydium.

Howe said he’s still not fully fit hence why he’s not in contention to start in his post match.
-
He looked hungry today, which was good. Seems to me to be a slightly moody player. Sometimes looks miserable and not up for it, whereas days like today he had a point to prove, which made him much more dangerous.

A few “I don’t want to go to sleep” stats. 24/25 - 85 goals, 1.9 per game. 23/24 -102 goals, 2 per game. 1.75 goals per game over his whole time here. (Keegan 1st time - 1.85 Pardew - 1.2 Bruce - 1.1)

Thought the ref had a poor game and I'm not detracting from that. But I'm still dumbfounded by how football continues to allow players (and coaching staff sometimes) to surround refs, scream things at them, wag fingers, and other cynical/nasty things. In rugby, it's not tolerated, there's actual consequences for it, so it doesn't happen. That's respect. Football could stamp it out in 5 minutes if it wanted, but my theory is that the powers that be view the players as their hallowed cash cows and don't want to upset them, even if it's clearly for the good of the game. It grates me virtually every game I watch. Don't let the players behave like morons. Book them for surrounding the ref for example, even if you book half the team at once, and I bet they'll stop it pretty quick. It's not rocket science. There are obviously many other issues affecting refereeing standards, but could we actually try treating them as human beings? Might help them be better.

Disagree. We’d need another RB anyway as we’re going to have plenty of games. One more season with roughly 15-20 starts across all comps IMO. His leadership and on field coaching is massive.

Has any team ever gone into the playoffs with as little momentum?
