€4m loan fee & €9m more if they make it permanent at the end of it.

I was just about to post that. What an unbelievable season that was until the wheels came off when Bellamy got injured. A few years of shite under Dalglish and Gullit and then a rebuilding process for a couple under SBR. I don't think anyone expected the transformation in the 01-02 season. I had to leave a boozer in Coventry when the 3rd went in at Highbury, thought I was having a heart attack.

It's one thing taking a gamble on damaged goods if they're a bargain but I fail to see the logic in paying more than what Marseille paid for him when he's flopped. Either Carr rates him very highly or the rumoured fee is well off the mark.
-
Only time I've seen him play was in the champions league, possibly against one of the Turkish clubs, and he looked like a beast. Strong, quick, scored twice. Can't recall a massive amount but I bought him on fifa on the strength of it.
-
Just pleased he doesn't look overweight.

Don't know, he might still feel things. Fans of other teams still feel things, apparently. No. I am annoyed about the pathetic u-turn to the original u-turn, but we've already bought Gueye, who is practically the same player Delph is, so he's replaced already. Do you not think he was Delphs replacement & that's why he's going? Gueye was linked when Delph was expected to go then both stories went quiet. Then it breaks that Delph is heading to Citeh and Gueye move is in the press again?? I know very little about Delph so maybe he is a complete dick who'd change his mind twice in a week but looks to be more to it to me. Gone because he had assurances Benteke would stay or pushed because they've bought his replacement & can't afford or need to keep him and Gueye??

If remy can get a big signing on fee and keep his current wage at palace I'm sure he would move happily. One thing we know about him is he's only in it for the money. Where does the money grabber bit come from, is it because he rejected us to go to QPR? If so he hardly knocked us back at the first flash of more cash did he? If the stories were true he knocked 3 financially better offers back from them and was going to sign for us until they offered him double and, probably most importantly, a get out of jail free card if they went down. Then he opted to join the team that went on to be champions the 2nd time he spurned our advances. Personally I would rather have him over any other striker I've seen us linked with this summer regardless of the past.

Was thinking the same thing. Stoke pulled the plug on Shaqiri when it looked like a no go so that they didn't waste time and miss out on other targets. We must have had some encouragement somewhere along the line.

It's Cabella on loan for the season.

Winegum is 5 ft 9 according to wiki.

I actually respect him for wanting to move to a Champions League club rather than get paid loads in England by a midtable team I very much doubt we'd pay him more than Roma.

Wasn't he an alternative to Debuchy?

Buffon 88 ?

That spin, dribble & shot goal for Bordeaux in that link was amazing.

Taken from Wiki Style of Play Van Ginkel primarily plays as a central midfielder but has been lauded for his ability to play in a multitude of positions including defensive midfield and across the attacking midfield. From his early playing days at Vitesse he has primarily played in an attacking role, however, has matured in his ability to play in a deeper defensive role. Despite his young age, Van Ginkel is recognized as a solid, well-rounded player who has all the tools of a future superstar. On the pitch he is widely known for his maturity on the ball, super ball control and an extensive range of passing. He is comfortable with both feet, makes intelligent runs into the box and has an exceptional long-range shot. Van Ginkel has described himself as “a real box-to-box player. I can score goals but I can also be important to defense.” Current Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, holds the youngster in high regard and has likened him to England greats Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard. He has described Van Ginkel as an engine with immense physical power. As with several others, Jose is quick to point out his overall game, “He covers a fantastic area of the field defensively and after that he has this instinct where he wants to go into finishing areas, he wants to score goals. He’s very good in the air.”

http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/586681/European-minnows-Newcastle-Papiss-Cisse-Cheick-Tiote European minnows seek audacious double SWOOP for Newcastle's Papiss Cisse and Cheick Tiote NEWCASTLE pair Papiss Cisse and Cheick Tiote are being lined up by Trabzonspor in a £14million double swoop. The ambitious Turkish side have already held talks with Tiote's representatives and are now also keen on team-mate Cisse. Cisse, Newcastle's top scorer last season with 11 goals, is valued at £6.5m by the Super Lig club who failed with a similar bid for the Senegalese striker 2013. Cisse has 18 months left on his current Newcastle deal and has told new Tyneside boss Steve McClaren he is keen to stay. But Trabzonspor are taking no for an answer as they seek cover for Oscar Cardozo, the Paraguay forward who is set to miss the first three months of the campaign through injury. And they are willing to shell out £7.5m for Tiote, who hopes to be fit for the start of the season after surgery in February on a knee injury. Tiote has two years left on his current £40,000-a-week deal at St James' Park. But the 29-year-old is expected to leave, with Newcastle set to make a healthy profit on the £3.5m paid to McClaren's old club FC Twente in 2010.

Played for City & Derby in the 80's/90's and been knocking around as manager/assistant to a few lower league clubs. Might have been at Carlisle with Garde Yay! watched him in the 80´s at a lot of games.. He was a total disaster as a lower league manager though so keep him in just a coaching role He was certainly no disaster at Carlisle, winning promotion 2 seasons in a row. Also found this on wiki "He was also named as the League Two Manager of the Year and in the League Managers Association statistics was the best manager in the country on points per game above Rafael Benítez".

It's like a horrible case of deja vu, us playing a team in claret & blue, Mackems playing Chelsea & Hull playing Man U on the final day of the season

Probably a load of crap but if there is any truth in it could this mean they're already planning for Debuchy being on his way at the end of the season ? http://justarsenal.com/why-arsenal-and-jenkinson-should-say-yes-to-newcastle/31232 A different piece of Arsenal transfer news today as the Evening Standard are reporting that Newcastle United are interested in loaning Carl Jenkinson for the entirety of next season. This is great news for Jenkinson in my opinion as his development has definitely stalled with Sagna having a strong season and at his age, game time is vital for his development. Jenkinson joined from Charlton for around £1 million in 2011 and he really staked his claim to a place in the Arsenal team when he was forced into the right back spot because of injury to Sagna at the beginning of the 2012/2013 season. He had some great games against the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and so on. He even went on to have a very good game against Bayern Munich at the Allianz where we won 2-0. This season however, Jenkinson has definitely struggled to make his mark when he has started. He often seems clumsy now and lacks any real technique to his game. It has definitely been a step down from his performances last season. However, is this drop in performance because of his overall lack of ability or because he’s young? I personally think it’s a bit of both. A loan to Newcastle would be massive for his career. Being in a Premier league team where you will most definitely get more game time than you do at Arsenal will be very important to his development. Hopefully he’ll impress Pardew in this hypothetical loan and will become a starter at Newcastle. That in itself would be a great feat for him at such a young age and would aid his development. There is no doubt the young Englishman has stalled but he still has potential and hopefully he’ll have the option of going on loan to another Premier league club this summer so he can continue his development. Even if Sagna does leave, it is likely that Wenger will enter the transfer market for a more experienced and reliable player, so Jenkinson may have to accept that a move is the best thing for his long term future at Arsenal

Debuchy will go with him -
I thought he got injured during the Sunderland game but maybe I'm wrong ?? Also thought SBR got it wrong in filling Bellamys place with Cort & Shola. He should have used Lua Lua or even Dyer up front.

Yeah according to Wiki Belhanda had a year remaining and went to Kiev for 10m euros.
