Don't think it would be the worst thing in the world if he pulled out of the International squad and use the time to get his body and mind a bit of rest. He looks tired and a bit listless, doesn't seem quite focused and looks a little laboured. The rest would do him good imo. I don't think it'll happen mind, he won't want to give anyone a chance to take his place which I understand. He'll want to play as much as possible, but I think that's half the problem, he needs a rest mentally and physically. Imo obviously

7/9 and through to the next round of the cup - can't see anyone who wouldn't have taken that a month ago. There are issues mind, we've looked decidedly off colour in all 4 games and we're nowhere near clicking. But we've now got a little time to have a bit of a reset and tweak a few things before we're right back into our groove. Got every faith he can put the shite window (and all of the storm it's created) behind him and get us playing a little better

Awful mistake/decision for their goal, can only assume he's still not sure about going full stretch to turn shots around the post of he can possibly help it. Maybe scared of the landing he'd get? Not sure but he also made 3 or 4 excellent saves too. The mistake will be highlighted but he also kept us in the game too

Nice and solid today, didn't really notice he was there today which is a good thing. Just went about his business quietly and calmly, he's obviously not great on the ball but I think you can hide those weaknesses a lot more in games like today. Just did the basics really well and never overplayed it, just nice and simple. Good stuff

If 3 apples and 2 pears cost £2.70 and 2 apples and 5 pears cost £3.60 why the fuck were you still negotiating with Parish after he went public for the first time about Marc Guehi?

Game will be won and lost in CM (as many are), if we go Bruno, Tonali and Joelinton then I'd fancy us to edge it by a goal. They've got some talent though and we'll need to raise the levels a bit from what we've seen so far this season if we're going to do it. Mainly worried about their pace on the break, Son, Kulu and Johnson could glide past Krafth and Burn given the chances

It's a 2/10 unfortunately First team not strengthened at all Squad strengthened slightly Deadwood mostly still here It's basically pigshit. It's a collective failure and we've been made to look like fucking idiots considering we're throwing in £60m bids for a month and still not getting players in. Couldn't even get a player on loan to paper over the cracks

All this has done is to heap more pressure and scrutiny on Howe and the players. The failure to strengthen looks to have been of our own volition, we made the Guehi bids so the money was there but we elected to not spend it. It's a conscious decision, not limited by PSR, this is our decision to not invest when we could have. And now the teams we're trying to overhaul have strengthened and the pack has moved on while we've chosen to stand still. It's now Howe who needs to pull a rabbit out of the bag and catch the teams we were already behind despite them improving. Pressure is well and truly on and it's hard to say it's not self inflicted

Chalobah going there on loan caps a miserable and pathetic transfer window. Hall was a deal done last summer, Ruddy was a free, Kelly was a free, Pivas was signed from nowhere and Vlach was signed as a favour to Forest for bailing us out of the shit for PSR. The only club we've actually had to deal with is Championship Sheff Utd to get Osula. It's an absolutely abysmal showing from the recruitment team (scouting to deal-making) and no-one will convince me otherwise. No idea who is responsible for each part of the process but it'll get pulled apart in time and it'll come out eventually. If others want to try and sugar-coat things then they're perfectly entitled to do so but I'm not having it

I think it's unhelpful to try and work out what the dynamic is between Howe/Mitchell/Eales/Nickson. We've got no idea who does what, who is responsible for what, who has targeted players and who is responsible for closing the deals. But what we can say is that whatever the current arrangement is hasn't worked and there's a day left to fix it. To have serious money to invest and come out of the window with Kelly and Osula as upgrades is a shocking window and I struggle to see how anyone, inside or outside of the club, can spin it into a positive. There were huge, obvious gaps in the squad and the XI and they, as of right now, are still there. Whatever systems and responsibilities have been in place this summer to identify and sign players literally haven't worked. They've got a day left to fix it for the good of the club. They'll either do it or they won't

Just imagine how many pats on the back Parish is going to get at the next PL meeting man Played us like a fiddle for a month. Looking like we've absolutely fucked it here

I think the main difference between the anger of the Ashley transfer windows was of a clear lack of ambition. We had some money but had no interest in spending it - until we absolutely had to. When we absolutely needed a player in then we got him but generally speaking the whole 'we tried' rung true. Now it's not the ambition that's in question, the money invested has been incredible and I'm sure that more would have been spent but for the dodgy PSR bollocks. We clearly want to spend but the Guehi deal raises the question of capability. The deals we've done this summer have been mediocre at best. We've chased Guehi for a month, we've clearly got a load of cash there to be spent and we're heading into deadline day with pocket full of cash and a lack of quality new players and the same gaps still very present. It'll now be a case of can they rather than do they get the deals done tomorrow.

Can't wait for the 'rate the transfer window' thread They may still pull a couple of rabbits out of the hat in the next 36 hours but Kelly, Vlac, Hall permo, Ruddy, Pivas and Osula whilst losing Anderson and Minteh is looking bleak as fuck tbph. I'd be struggling to give it more than a 2/10 at this point and that's only because I think Kelly and Osula may be pretty decent for us this season. Throw in the fact we've not managed to shift much of the dead wood to anyone means that some people are going to be put on the spot and asked why this has happened. It's dreadful

I love it. Complete honesty and it'll feel like a genuine escape away from that club and those toxic cunts that follow them. I was going to say 'support them' but the fuckers on that train platform weren't doing much supporting

It was a big pen and he took it really well, deserves a pat on the back tonight

We're still miles away from clicking and there's something not quite right about how we're playing, it's disjointed and looks a bit shit to be honest. But we're unbeaten in 3 and into the next round of the cup so there's definitely positives there, we have to crank it up a bit though and decide how we're going to play. Sunday will be both interesting and informative. First proper team we'll have to try and match, we'll know much more about us at 5pm on Sunday
